Has anyone done a sub for a show that is translated literally? ie shows the english word AS they speak instead of moving things around for the difference in sentence structures. For me I think it would greatly help in getting the 'jist' of how things are said.

Not that I know. A few shows have both English and Japanese subs, but they show the whole sentence and not words has they are spoken.

Engrish subs are closer, but they don't make sense. If you can read Japanese, there are TV shows that are subbed that way. They usually have big pink text added has the user speaks.

LOL, subs can be confusing enough already LOL.

If someone can read Japanese that fast, they can more than likely understand what's being said anyway.

hehehe. yea, i definately cant read japanese like that Big Grin
Its just after watching so many subbed doramas and anime that you can see the differences in how the subbers translate even the more common phrases. I guess Ill have to buy a book or take a class.

Yeah. Like during long sentences you know what they're going to say in Japanese, because you just read it or tell yourself after reading that's not what he/she said at all.

One good point is, when you know the difference between the subtitles and the spoken words, it means you're getting better in Japanese. Thumbsup
