i've lived in south carolina, albany ny, long island, japan, okinawa, florida. i love southern california. weather's usually great, lots of places to go, not too far from las vegas, bay area, san diego, tijuana, grand canyon... i don't miss winter at all - who needs all the snow? thai town, korea town, little tokyo, chinatown - it's great. traffic is not good, we have smog, gangs are here (well, they're everywhere anyway eh?), houses are expensive, gotta take the bad with the good, no place is perfect. i love it here, wouldn't live anywhere else.

i've lived in stockton most of my life, since i was 2 years old until i was 19 years old. my family is still there. even though you hate stockton, i love it cuz its my hometown. Applaud stockton is a slow placed suburb, and compared to SF its a nice change to go back home once in awhile. life is more easy and simple there, so don't feel sorry for people who live in stockton. Beaten

but right now im in the SF bay area as well. i love Japan town's restaurants (osaka ya, sophie's crepes), kinokuniya, and the mikado cd store (the owner of the cd store, knows my face, since i've bought so many amuro namie and ayumi hamasaki cds). Nut
SF is very diversed, but the only drawbacks is the parking, street cleaning, metermaids, and the rent! Sweat

What can I say?...I hate where I am presently living and sometimes I don't. Kansas - the center of the United States, the only diversity we have here is the cows and wheat that we grow. Yes, Kansas is good for somethings like KU's (University of Kansas) Basketball team and wide open spaces, but there is nothing to do here. It is flat, there is no mountains (but I think if you live in Western Kansas you can see Colorado's mountains!)...the tallest peak we have in Kansas is a hill and we call it a mountain (to make us feel better about our flat state). There is no ocean and the food is as plain just like Kansas, so if people say that where they live is boring come to Kansas and enjoying the wonderful aspects we have here. You could....(a) Watch the grass and wheat grow...(b) Watch the cows eat the grass etc. I believe people do have fun and exciting things to do in other states such as go out and have cool attractions... sometimes we do in Kansas, but I am so bored here...considering that I want to go to Japan and other countries. Going to Foreign Countries is far more exciting then living here in Kansas. Don't get me wrong...Kansas is good for somethings...I am getting my education here, but maybe I am greedy by wanting more out of where I am living. Sorry, this post is really long...I guess I just started rambling on... Chatter Gomen ne Sweat
~Just Bored I Guess~

I have never been to Kansas but I would probably agree with what you said if I were living there. I'm a big city girl and I like being on a coast. I think I would feel trapped being surrounded by land in the center of this big country Sweat I would probably not live in the midwest. I have never been to the west coast though. I would like to visit though Mr Green I just wanna travel in general someday. The only places I have been to are PA, NJ, DE, MD, DC, NY, and I think I was in Connecticut once. Other than that I've been to Japan. So yeah....I feel kinda isolated, LOL. Rolling eyes

Newport Beach?? What about Manhattan, Hermosa, and Redondo??

I've gotta say that living in the South Bay is pretty nice: the weather's mild usually, 'cause I'm only 5-6 miles from the water, and it's a really good, safe community... Not to mention a lot of Japanese folks live here and the big three's (Toyota, Honda, Nissan) headquarters are located here to boot... Big Grin

It's a whole lot better than Southwest/Central L.A. where I grew up... Sweat

I live in a small city in ontario - and it's kind of boring and it's quite a drive to big cities like Ottawa and Toronto. There's also no natural scenery either.

The strange thing is most people who moved to this city always makes the comment that the people here are not like "real" people (which I guess is kind of rude too since I grew up in this place). The thing is, is that I agree with them because there's a lot of people here who has too much time and money on their hands - so quite a bit of them are kind of ignorant - kind of like suburban hell but not. I'm not exagerrating too - it's only something you'd know if you move here. I know it sounds like I hate it but it's really not bad - the people here are very neighbourly, nice and helpful.

On the upside: there's a lot of fine Italian and French cuisine! And in the summers - there's like roses everywhere!

On the downside: there's no Japanese or Mexican restuarant. There's only a couple of Asian stores but they just sell grocery.

I would love to live somewhere like Hawaii but I don't know if I could though. I love the winter (it's my favourite season - I luv the cold) and even though I hate shovelling snow - it is a beautiful sight. I mean Christmas would be really strange without snow...I guess I would miss the seasons changing.

Me personally I have lived in SoCal for all my life and i've grown to like it. However, my heart belongs to a cold rainy climate. I know it may sound wierd but I prefer cold, rainy, snowy enviorment over the 72 degree perfect day climate of Southern California. It makes for great cuddling enviorment.

Oh wait....now if only I had someone to cuddle with Angry Bleah

I know what you mean, thats one thing I like about Stockton. Living at a boring place than going to a place like SF, makes it more exciting. I can't see myself living in SF, I'll spend to much money and be out all day and night.

LOL thats what I'm hoping for as well, to hit the lottery and buy a beach house. Yeah I've been to the new theatre, first movie I saw there was The Last Samurai and LOTR..saw it on the same day..the cinema is like the one in Lodi where I used to go to watch movies. I haven't been to the movies in awhile because theres no good movie out. Naughty Nick is alright and the bowling place is always League..its really annoying.
