Hi everyone i have been watching jdramas for some months now first let me make a list of the dramas ive seen:

Hanazakari no kimitachi e
Nodame(the specials too)
Hana Yori Dango 1/2
Kurosagi(waiting for the movie 8 days left =) )
Nobuta wo produce
Densha Otoko
sore wa totsuzen arashi no you ni
Lunch Queen
Stand UP!!
Proposal Daisakusen
Dragon Zakura
Galileo
My Boss My Hero
GTO
Gokusen

i hope i didnt forget any.

Basically im looking for more school life jdramas, that focus more on the students (like My Boss My Hero), and not so much on the teachers.
Also some must see recommendations of randomtype dramas i havent seen.

Forgot to say that i dont like emotional dramas.

@ Yola and Pan just recently started watching "The Story of Yamada Taro" It's a comedy with highschool kids and a touch of romance. It's pretty good and I think it fits into what both of you wanted.

Im after Seito Shokun but the only subs i found stopped at the 5th episode and they recently started subbing again. So it will take some time till all episodes are subbed.

The summary fits the bill Smile besides watching jdrama isn't just about watching the good stuff you have to watch the bad stuff to know just how good the good stuff is. and I probably will get around to watching them sometime soon too.

If they happen to be bad jdrama (not that i think they are from theyre discription they sound interesting) then it will only serve to make me (and whomever I suggested them to appreciate the good ones we have watched previously. It will also serve to make Pan hate me.... Sweat I'm sorry if they're bad Bow

Fingers crossed Hope that most of them turn out to be good.

Hey, I just made my mother watch Nodame Cantabile, and surprisingly she really likes it!
However, the series is coming to an end and she asked me what we would watch next?
So what would you recommend me watching with my mother?

I think she likes a light-hearted Comedy, like Nodame, nothing too romantic, nothing too sad ... I thought of My Boss My Hero or Hana Kimi. Any other suggestions? ;__;

At Home Dad would be a great one to watch with your mom. I was watching it on the plane a few weeks ago and the lady next to me actually watched two full episodes... without sound! She said she liked it and thanked me Smile

Also Kekkon Dekinai Otoko would be a good one to watch with her.

edit:
Both are more adult oriented comedy.... I think she may enjoy these more than HS dramas.

Jyoou no Kyoushitsu

Hello everybody,

I'm looking for some nice jdorama too watch, any suggestions? I'm a huge shoujo-fan, setting doesn't really matter. I've been reading manga and watching anime for ages, but it wasn't till I accidentally downloaded the live-action version of HYD that I discovered that jdrama was fun as well. Anyway, I have seen HYD (1 and 2) and I'm currently watching Honey & Clover, so any more suggestions?

Thanks!
Natascha

If you liked Kimi wa petto, Gokusen and Suppli you may wish to check out the live action - I prefer the Mangas by far though

In terms of dramas, I would recommend:

1) Ima Ai ni Yukimasu. This is one of the most beautiful dramas I have ever seen.

2) Byakuyakou. This is the darkest drama I have ever seen. It's not appropriate for everyone, but it's definitely a love story, and definitely sad.

Bringing up an old comment/reply, but it took me a while to finish those doramas. Thanks, both of them where great in their own way.

Anyway,
now I'm in need of more doramas Shameful Cry
Like many others here, I really love tear-jerkers Puppy Dog Eyes
If anyone can recommend me a good one, I'd be very grateful Victory! Peace!
Again, you can check my already-seen doramas here; http://jdorama.com/viewprofile.26195.htm
Thanks!~

I've just recently seen My Boss, My Hero, I thought it was hilarious.

I'm new to watching jdoramas so im here to ask if there is similar ones like My Boss, My Hero. The parts that I want similar are;

* Male led actor, Great facal expression comedy
* Must be hilarious in every episode
* School location
* Recently made

Thanks in advance.

I think "Nobuta wo produce" is a cute and funny schooldrama - it was made in 2005 or 2006, is about three schoolkids played by Maki, Kame and Yamapi.
ThereLs no manly lead like Nagase Tomoya in this, but for the first time in drama history Yamapi is actually acting with his heart, and in a very funny way too.
