New movie for Maki:

"Nakushita Kioku" gets release window, official title
Sun, October 11, 2009 (4:28am EDT)
Last November, it was announced that Maki Horikita (21) and Kenichi Matsuyama (24) were co-starring in a movie tentatively called "Nakushita Kioku," directed by American filmmaker Hans Canosa. On Sunday, a press conference was held to announce the film's release window and official title.

The picture will be titled "Dareka ga Watashi ni Kiss wo Shita" and is slated for theatrical release in March 2010. Based on the novel "Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac" by American author Gabrielle Zevin, the story tells of a high school student (Horikita) who loses part of her memory in an accident.

Although the movie is in Japanese, Horikita's character attends an international school, so about 40% of her lines are in English. She commented that she was surprised when she first saw the script, and she had a lot of trouble with the English lines. However, Canosa praised her, saying that she has the potential to become an international star.

I'm not doubting her English speaking abilities, I mean if Maki ever learnt to speak fluent English
well.....it gives us all a chance.
Probably be one of the happiest days of my life w00t!

I just find it wierd when random English words and sayings are thrown into J-drama's, it sounds odd to me.
I think maybe the Japanese, especially in J-drama's should stick to their own beautiful language.

I know this Maki project is a movie, and the fact it has English lines in it is promising.
So I guess it doesn't count, and I shouldn't really complain about something so minor.

Hopefully it will be released in the West Victory! Peace!

Makifs Monthly Message for October

Ah!
Just like that we are in October already.
So fast. Way too fastc .
As expected Ifm quite nervous,
itfs the month of my birthday after all.
While thinking to myself I realized
that itfs much more painful
to end being 20 than to end being a teenager.
Itfs strange.
There is a fanclub event this month
and Ifm looking forward to be able to meet all of you!
I have to think about ambitions for my 21st year~

I hate to tell you this, but "random English words and sayings" are now part of the Japanese language, whether you like it or not Smile it's just that JDramas are reflecting it rather than encouraging it.

I've heard her speak the odd word in English, I dunno it just sounds odd to me.
I think it's down to peoples accents.

I guess it's just like us lot speaking Japanese (apologies to anyone in here that is actually Japanese or can speak Japanese fluently).
