Keisuke Koide to appear in NTV drama "Rental Kyuuseishu"

Koide Keisuke will be appearing in the NTV Autumn 2016 drama "Rental Kyuuseishu" from Ep 4 onwards which will be shown on 30 October. This is the first time in 11 years that Koide is appearing as a regular in a NTV drama since "Gokusen 2".

Koide will be playing Shirozaki Sentarou who is the elder brother of Momochi Reiko (Shida Mirai) and the president of a IT company. Coincidentally, the company which he owns is where Kurou (Oosugi Ren) was working at before he got fired.

Koide said that he had been watching the drama since it began and was surprised to be given the chance to participate in it. Although he's only joining the filming midway into the season and there are many things which he isn't used to, he will do his best to play his character.

Keisuke Koide to star in NHK drama

Koide Keisuke will be starring in the new NHK drama "Kamisama kara hitogoto ~ Naniwa okyakusama soudanshitsu monogatari ~" (A word from God ~ the story of Naniwa customer counselling room ~) which will begin its run from 10 June in the Saturdays 8.15pm timeslot. The drama which consists of 6 episodes, is based on the same-titled novel by Ogiwara Hiroshi who won the 155th Naoki Award.

Koide plays the lead character Sakura Ryohei who is a straightforward guy and hates to go around the bush. His overly strong sense of justice causes Ryohei to clash with his superior so often that he is transferred from a major advertising agency to a food manufacturer Tamayama Shokuhin's customer service department. On the first day of his work, Ryohei ends up quarelling with his boss again and gets sent to the customer counselling room which deals with "monster complainers". In this department, he has to work with colleagues with very colourful characters but they are all experts in dealing with complaints. Although Ryohei feels that he does not fit in within the organisation, he starts to pick up skills in complaint handling and grows to become an even better person. Co-stars include Kishii Yukino, Miyake Hiroki, Yoshizawa Hisashi, Koizumi Kotaro, Ichige Yoshie, Kusabue Mitsuko and Danta Yasunori.

Misconduct forces Keisuke Koide into indefinite hiatus

A tabloid magazine article this week has forced Japanese actor Keisuke Koide to announce an indefinite hiatus in activities.

An article in the latest issue of Friday reports that Koide allegedly drank and had an �gimproper relationship�h with a 17-year-old girl in early May during the shooting of a drama in Osaka. After confirming the validity of the report with Koide, his management agency Amuse announced on Thursday – one day before the magazine�fs release – that Koide is going on indefinite hiatus.

In a statement released through Amuse, Koide admitted wrongdoing and apologized to his colleagues and the staff of the works that he�fs been involved in.

On the same day, NHK announced that it is cancelling the release of television drama Kamisama kara Hito Koto – Naniwa Okyakusama Soudanshitsu Monogatari (�_�l����Ђƌ��`�Ȃɂ� ���q�l���k������`), set to air on the public television network on June 10th. He has also been dismissed from upcoming NTV drama Aishitetatte, Himitsu wa Aru (�����Ă����āA�閧�͂���B).

Local media reports that the fate of upcoming Netflix drama Jimmy – The True Story of a True Idiot (Jimmy �`�A�z�݂����ȃz���}�̘b�`) and Toshio Lee�fs comedy Ie ni Karen to Tsuma ga Kanarazu Shinda Furi wo Shite Imasu (�ƂɋA��ƍȂ��K�����񂾂ӂ�����Ă��܂��B) – which has just finished production in the spring for a 2018 release – are also currently being discussed.

Koide also has a major supporting role in recently released Chinese period actioner God of War (�������_) and Gukoroku – Traces of Sin (���s�^), which is set for release in Taiwan this weekend. It is unclear whether Koide�fs misconduct will affect those films.
