Hosaka Naoki [保坂尚輝]
Kare ga zutto watashi no ichiban! There is something about Hosaka Naoki which makes him so well rounded. A truly talented actor who has such tantalizing appeal! His mystic and elusive role in "Kagayaku toki no naka de" is spellbinding. His presence is just absolutely majestic! Love him from "Hitonatsu no puropozu", a tad wicked in "Teppen" but hypnotically gorgeous and uplifting in "Kagayaku toki no naka de". My only regret is not being able to see all the Jap dramas he performed in. Just like his Jap dramas, a rare find; my one and only Hosaka Naoki. (>*^.~<)
Osawa Takao [大沢たかお]
Well l can't help but to feast my eyes and drool profusely over Osawa Takao. I was very skeptical about him being the main lead in "Hoshi no Kinka" but he just proved me wrong and blew me away. I was captivated by his sheer talents and splendid performance. Love his amorous Shuichi san's character, so gentle, so warm, so mushy and yet subtle ting, and he personally has great charisma! (*^_^*) I'm "crying out in the centre of the world" for his success and good health, because he is so worthy of the love of all his fans, little me inclusive :). I am most definitely not his "tenshi no kiba" and could neither relate to his combative self in "oragami". He will always be my little "hana" who would thrive radiantly "Into the Sun" and would accomplish "sky high" achievements that would leave a "milky white" sweetish after taste in my mouth, sighing "GEGE".
Takenouchi Yutaka [竹野内豊]
Look into his eyes and you'll be hypnotised and mesmerised for life! Don't believe me? "Psycho Doc" is the answer to your excessive infatuation. Could you imagine serving him on ya plate all year round or just for special "manatsu no merry christmas"? Well stop dreaming! We live in an "ice world" that dreams shatter like the "beach boys' " careers. But deep down inside, if wishes were horses, l'd ride him to a "risou no kekkon" and honeymoon away in a "long vacation". (>*^.^*<) "Between calm and passion" Takenouchi Yutaka is the "Proof of the man"; his dedication and integrity towards his work and completeness of self, greatly humbles me. YUTAKA gambatte ne! "With Love" teruteru bozu (_)^.^(_) Btw did l mention he is chokingly breathtaking!

Beach boys [ビーチボーイズ]
2 Good 2 B True! [Rating: 2/10]
An extremely disappointing drama! Too much of a good thing is really a bad plate! Serve it cold, just like the storyline, serve it hot, Yutaka and Takashi warm and tickle my taste buds. The first 10mins of the show was hilarious and cheeky. I managed to watch disc 2 and could not continue despite the hunks. Gomen guys!
Hoshi no kinka 1 [星の金貨]
Silent beauty [Rating: 9/10]
I really enjoyed this drama. The simplicity and integirty of the script, so well written, really touches my heart. The complexity of human nature, the selflessness and unconditional love for one another is overwhelming. The overpowering performances by Yutaka + Takao + Noriko are just splendid. Especially the credulous portrayal of a deaf-mute (impaired) girl by Noriko, just SPEECHLESS, outstanding! Noriko's character equates to the 'less is more' ideology; she is deaf-mute however emits more luminous glow and energy than any other characters in the drama. Realistically, the ending lived up to my expectation, because of the selflessness of Noriko's character, however it would have been more satisfying if the stars did rain on her! It was also interesting to see how people rank this drama; some people focus too much on the ending and if it is not a happy and satisfying ending, their judgement becomes clouded thus disliking the entire show. Admittedly this drama is a great dismal, leaving a sweet bitter after taste, but still worth the watch!
Hoshi no kinka Season 2 / Zoku hoshi no kinka [續。星の金貨]
Silent threats [Rating: 8/10]
SO having seen "Hoshi no Kinka 1" l rented the sequel. Boy oh boy, was l flabbergasted by this sequel! This is such a dark, gloomy and doomed sequel! Poor Aya, the emotional roller coaster ride of her suffering, grief, anguish and her patience towards the irascible Takumi, one just can't help but to sympathise her situation. Especially having to hold back her profound love for Shuichi was shockingly sad for me to watch! Shuichi's character won my brownie points; his love, affection, fondness, tenderness, selflessness, devotion and warmth towards Aya is so intoxicating and admirable! The love he has for Aya is beyond words and is captured beautifully in this sequel! l was forever determined to finish the drama, despite having mixed emotions about the complexity of their relationships. I was also quite disturbed about Aya and Takumi's tragic mishaps. To draw MORE blood and dispirit the audience, the ending really dashed my hopes of the long awaited 'raining star' experience for Aya and Shuichi! The sequel really put an end to the drama, completely; killing the main lead which did serve their purpose of making it a classic, melancholy drama of all time. So if you are feeling the lows, skip this sequel!

A1 Performance [Rating: 10/10]
Holy Cow! I could hardly believe this! C'mon guys you must do this drama justice! Let this drama be the apple of your eye! Fantastic cast, profound insight in the nature of dedicated achievers, committed to one's passion and ambition, a class of human integrity, success and failure, true friendship and short yearning love sparks between them, really kept the ball rolling in my court. A very satisfying performance by all cast members and Hosaka Naoki gotta be the apple of my eye! Kare ga zutto watashi no ichiban!
Manatsu no Merry Christmas [真夏のメリークリスマス]
Merry Charisma [Rating: 7/10]
Never a true fan of Yutaka and always thought he was a mediocre performer. However, lately having seen 5 of his other dramas; Koori no sekai, Beach boys, Hoshi no kinka 1 & 2, Manatsu no Merry Xmas, With Love, my perception has drastically changed. I personally enjoyed the EMOTIONAL INTIMACY (10/10) that Yutaka and Miki portrayed in this rather banal drama (7/10). Which ironically made the drama come to life for me. There are lots of hiccups in this drama with shallow and predictable ending. The drama does drag slightly and becomes a little distasteful, however to do the drama justice, there's a special magnetic charm and force about these two characters which kept the ball rolling in my court; an unrighteous yet self-discipline step-bro who arguably falls head over heels in love with an innocent and artless step- sis. The stretching tension and strings pulled for these two silent, sweet lovey dovey settled with a rather satisfying finale; a long awaited kiss! The scene where he spilt the milk was hilarious!!! This is by far the most outstanding performance of Yutaka and heart-felt experience for me to observe such charisma, spark and the masculinity that he exerts, ahhhhh (^*.*^) is quite something alright!
Reisei to Jounetsu no Aida [冷静と情熱のあいだ]
Between bad and boring! [Rating: 2/10]
I can't believe how boring this movie is! A great snoozer! Unbelievably WARUI (bad)! I was trying to read the reviews on this movie before seeing it for myself & boy you guys are right about the scenery! You could only appreciate the mesmerising scenery and music. But they have gone way too far to make the story believable and lovable! As usual Yutaka is such a respectable actor, however l could not feel the chemistry between the two leads. Kelly's performance is flat, forced and so very unnatural, really spoils it for me. You can actually feel that she is trying so hard to get the accent right and to memorise her Jap lines, which does not compliment this delicate role. I think she is a little too edgy and tense for the role. It was also quite bizarre to have the two lead speak a different lingo to each other, thus, created a lack of communication between them. On a lighter note, it was a very exciting experience for me to see how well Yutaka can cut it; English, Italian and in his other Jap series, Chinese! This is the one and only movie (correct me if l am wrong) of Yutaka, but the most disappointing one! A mediocre and overrated love movie. Each to their own, but l just couldn't feel the beauty of the movie and their intense love for eachother, thus it was incomplete for me.
