Beautiful life [ビューティフルライフ]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Heartwarming but not the best love story around. At the beginning, the story is well-paced and well-scripted. The ending, I felt, was not nearly as well done. This series, I might add, is very melodramatic and can become unbearable to digest.
Bus stop [バスストップ]

[Dropped - Lack of interest]
Churasan [ちゅらさん]

Dandy Daddy? ~ Renai Shosetsuka: Izaki Ryunosuke [ダンディ・ダディ?]
Rating: 4/10
Densha Otoko [電車男]
Dragon Zakura [ドラゴン桜]
Dream Again [ドリーム☆アゲイン]

Galileo [ガリレオ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
The plot revolves around a police officer and a university professor as they solve unexplainable mysteries. The mystery-elements made it extremely fascinating. Not to mention, the story stays strong until the end. The only thing that I found questionable is the bullshit equations/theories. Overall, this series definitely will not bore you.
Good Luck !! [グッドラック!!]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
They tried. They tried to make an interesting story centering around pilots. But the story is just far too unrealistic. Pilots just do not have such dramatic lives.
GTO [麻辣教師]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Unfortunately, my expectation from the anime and the manga is far too high. This drama, of course, is much more realistic than its anime and manga counterpart. But it lacks some of the "Teacher Onizuka is invincible" charm that makes GTO GTO.
H2~Kimi to itahibi [2〜君といた日々]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Great plot. Great acting. Great everything. The story is centered around two rivals of high school baseball. The baseball games are highly entertaining to watch, even if you have no experience in baseball like me. Not to mention, the love story is very well developed. You really do not have to be a baseball fan to enjoy this one.
Hachimitsu to Kuroba [ハチミツとクローバー]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
This is a touching story of Takemoto and his college friends as they struggle through love, college life and their careers. I really enjoyed this one. There is a lot of comic relief when the plot gets too serious. And each episode does a good job pulling the viewers in for more.
Hotaru no Hikari [ホタルノヒカリ]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Hotaru no Hikari is based on the manga of the same name; Hotaru is a girl who prefers to laze around at home rather than to seek romance, until her manager discovers her living habits. The story is very solid and touching. The acting is fantastic. The casting could not have been any better chosen. There is comic relief throughout the story so the story is very easy to digest. I seriously could not find any flaws in this series.
Itoshi Kimie [愛し君へ]

[Dropped - Lack of interest]
Karei naru Spy [華麗なるスパイ]
Kekkon Dekinai Otoko [結婚できない男]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
This novel-based drama is nothing short of marvelous. I really enjoyed it. The story is about the life of an anti-social man and his inability to get married. The story is funny, witty and charming. Last but not least, Abe's acting is just too good.
Konkatsu! [婚カツ!]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003 [高校教師 2003]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
What a twisted, yet, emotional and touching story. The story is centered around student-teacher affairs, involving a lots of deception and manipulation. This means that the story may not be suitable for everyone. However, if you can take it, the various suspenseful twists will keep you watching till the very end.
Kurosagi [クロサギ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
This is a very easy to digest series. The series really makes you want to finish the entire series in one go. The story is centered around a swindler who lives to swindle other swindlers. Every episode is exciting but the love triangle may leave you frustrated. An important note is that the heroine is EXTREMELY annoying. Other than that, it was an amazing series.
Liar Game [ライアーゲーム]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
This is an exciting series based on the manga of the same name; fans of the manga will find noticeable changes though. The story is centered around a game where participants lie and cheat large sums of money from other participants. Overall, the series is enjoyable and exciting to watch. The acting, I should point out, is overdramatic.
Long vacation [ロングバケーション]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
While this is a touching love story, it is a bit too plain. The story is not interesting enough nor is it too exciting. Unless you are into straightforward romance, this one may put you to sleep.
Love generation [ラブジェネレーション]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Another simplistic but enjoyable love story. I thought the music was a little out of fashion; it turned me off. Then again, this series is around 10 year old. Overall, the story is well told, but it lacks elements that make the series memorable.
Moto Kare [元カレ]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
This is another love triangle series. Toji is a department store manager who is fairly happy with his girlfriend. But things starts to change as his ex-girlfriend suddenly shows up into his life. The first couple of episodes is really warm hearted but things turn melodramatic around midway into the series. I find the ex-girlfriend to be a major bitch as she screws up everything for Toji.
MR. BRAIN
Rating: 4/10
[Dropped - Lack of interest]
My Boss, My Hero [マイボスマイヒロ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
A well developed story in almost every aspect. The story is centered around a 27 year old yakuza (mafia) who has to go through high school in order to become the next yakuza boss. The humorous content really makes this series easy to digest. Not to mention, the romance is well developed. It is Tomoya's acting though that really pushes it over the top.
My Little Chef
Nobuta wo Produce [野ブタ。をプロデュース]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Kotani is a gloomy high school girl who is always the target for bullies. The story revolves around the lives of two students as they attempt to make this girl popular. The entire series is very solid; I really can't find any flaws. From beginning to end, the story continues to be evenly paced. The acting is also superb. Not to mention, there is a nicely constructed plot twist.
Okitegami Kyoko no Biboroku [掟上今日子の備忘録]
Orange Days [オレンジデイズ]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
This is the story about Kai and a deaf violinist, Sae, and the struggles they have to go through as they fall in love with each other. This is your everyday jdrama love story. I didn't find anything memorable that sets it apart from its counterparts. Also, this series can get a little melodramatic.
Papa to Musume no Nanokakan [パパとムスメの7日間]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
The lives of a high school girl and her salary-man father are swapped. The story goes through their struggles they experience as they live the other person's life. The plot is very interesting but the story is rushed. I mean, they could have made it an 11-episode series. The acting is pretty terrible, but the terrible acting lightens up the plot in a ridiculous and funny way.
Q.E.D. ~ Shomei Shuryo [証明終了]
Rating: 4/10
[Dropped - Lack of interest]
ROOM OF KING
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
This is one of those series that keeps you wanting to watch more. This series is centered around several individuals who are completing to inherit the luxurious KING mansion. The series does well capturing the lifestyle and distress of all the individuals without going overboard and losing focus of the theme.
Shiroi Haru [白い春]
Slow Dance [スローダンス]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
Not only is this romance plain but it is also slow-paced. I also found both heroines to be irritating. There is not much to say beyond that.
Strawberry on the shortcake [ストロベリー・オンザ・ショートケーキ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
What started as a one-sided incest love turns into a MASSIVE love triangle. The acting keeps you watching and the story is not the least bit dull, but the plot twists really push it over the top.
Summer snow

Tantei Gakuen Q [探偵学園Q]

The Quiz Show Season 2 [ザ・クイズショウ 2]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
This drama is SO realistic. I found myself both moved and disturbed many times during the series. As expected from Arashi's Sakurai, his acting is good. The story is about a television quiz show that promises to grant the dreams of the constestants. As long as a contestant answers all 8 questions correctly, one of their dreams will be granted. The rules may sound simple, but when the contestants get further into the questions, the dark pasts they try so hard to protect get revealed.
