Well I must say I realy enjoyed this drama it was a great drama to watch. Takashi played his normal goof off role kind of like in GTO and in Cheap love. He is realy good in those types of roles. Also Yutaka was awsome too. He looked realy young in this kind of differnt then usual he played a business man that was trying to relax and have a vaction and it turned out to last for about 3 months. It is a good summer drama it was great to watch I love the charactors and the actors very much. I would recomend any body to watch this drama. This drama follows the pattern of the "case by case" or "story by story" method, where each episode focuses on a specific story or plot and the characters go through each episode trying to resolve something. It's quite common to see this type of pattern in J dramas these days.
I liked this drama because they did such a good job of it, of connecting everything and making things run smooth and at a good pace. The story never got too fast or too slow, and each episode focused on an issue that's relative to today's world, and I can tell the writers did their homework on this one.
I don't see why people actually complained about the love story in this. I watched it for the conflicts within the news station and the love story was just in the background, and was never the focus. I personally like this formula, for it thickens the drama and prevents the drama from being too one-sided. |

A story of a lonely and misunderstood (but kind-hearted) anime otaku who falls in love with a rich and beautiful office lady that he meets on the train, except this time there is no fairy godmother. The man has to receive advice from his gang of internet friends in order to find ways to court the woman.
Itoh Atsushi portrays the very geeky, Yamada who has known only one love in his life - anime, mainly Mina the anime heroine with carrots propelling from her buttocks. He falls in love with Itoh Misaki's character, Aoyama - who is very far, far from his league. Through hard work and a lot of changing, Yamada breaks away from some of his otaku-ness with help from his friends in order to court the woman of his dreams.

Overall, the drama presents a new facet to kimura's diverse range of acting talents. I find no fault in his acting nor the casts. Koyuki was a stand-out in her role, acting flustered & lost that I find her irritating in the first few episodes (that's a sign of good acting!). However, I cannot say the same for the storyline. It's not too original to focus on each child's story for the different episode. I also find everytime there's a point to be made regarding the main story plot, the camera will focus on each child's face. This too was most irritating. Next, I think what was most on everyone's mind was the irrisistable duo-pairing of Kimura & Koyuki. So most had expected that a super-duper romance between the two would have exploded on-screen. But sad to say, this didn't happened either. Next, I think Koyuki's make-up and her wardrobe was very bad, making her look rather unflattering. This was poor handling since Koyuki is such a beautiful actress and have always have classic sense of dressing that it would have been a great asset for the drama to capitalise on her attributes. Next, of course was the racing aspect - where did it go? Lastly, I would love to see Kimura & Koyuki & the children reprising their roles in a sequel but with all the added potentials that I've suggested. Agree with me? So far, H2 is looking to be a great drama. It's funny, witty, interesting and certainly holds many surprises for those who haven't yet read the original manga. Even for those who have read the comic will find that the cast very much represent the characters as presented in Mitsuru Adachi's novels. A great drama and still so much more to come... |

Dam, i could not put this one down. I just kept on watching. I'd like to call this drama GTO from the back end. You take Onizuka sensei, milk of him of all the unorthodox methods of GTO (this is not a school drama however), and add in his cute kid with no mama. Kenji and Yuki is THE BEST COUPLE!!! Really cute couple!!!! I love the way they bicker with each other!! haha....Akiko Yada is cute! I really like Yuki's character! and I looove Yada's drunk acting, sooo funny and kawaii!!^.^ I just love their love story!!! I loooove all the western 80s soundtrack too! sugoi! Last Christmas by WHAM ga daisukiiiii!!! haha...but i dislike Oda Yuuji's version x) i keep wondering why didnt they just use the original song....heehee, Oda may be a great actor...but not a good singer x)
oh, but i have to say, that the love sub-plots are all CRAPS!!! Nana Katase and Tamaki Hiroshi are soooo annoying and boring! Their characters AND story are just crap. While the love triangle story between Goro, the sexy girl and the boy....althou uninteresting, but i like their funny characters^^ oh, but I do like the husband and wife quarrel, between Kenji's first girlfren and her husband...hehee, funny! and they made up thru the radio, very romantic!!^^ their dog is sooooo cute!
But, really....this drama is really just about Kenji and Yuki, for me....^_^ Great couple! i love the scene where Kenji and Yuki did the Titanic-pose!! haha!^^
btw, dont you think the way Yuki calls, "Keen-ji~!!", is sooooo similar with the way Rika Akana calls, "Kaan-chi~!!" ??? i thought i went dejavu there for awhile x) | Long vacation [ロングバケーション]

Despite Tsutsumi not appearing for most of the episodes due to his outlaw character, he's very funny too. |

It started off kind of slow, but then really picked up. I liked watching the main characters grow and change...they each had their own stories and things to deal with. And the audience had the smaller mini-stories almost every episode to keep us entertained while we waited to see how the main stories would turn out. Have u watch GTO? If yes, then u better try to watch this one. Toudou Naomi (Fujiwara) is an extraordinary teacher (even worse than Onizuka, i think). She was hired to teach in a highschool. Even the 1'st impression is the same with Onizuka, that is kicking someone's butt (but in her case it's a naughty and impolite student). There are 2 other NAOMI, Kai and Yashiro who also teach in the same highschool but they have different personality with Toudou. I love Akira (Yamapi`s character) sooooo much he`s such a cute guy he`s funny sweet and never care for what people think of him he does whatever he wants whenever, totally opposite from Shuji that`s always afraid of losing his popularity although he always do good at the end...
I do believe Nobuta will end up with Shuji but If it was me I would prefer Akira to be the one winning Nobuta`s heart he was so cute in episode 5 I just can`t stop saying "kawai" hehe---- |

This is a good drama but only if it's compared with other dramas that also uses this "standard textbook" formula; a love story about a person with inner turmoil that meets another person who slowly changes him or her. The drama did a great job of playing out the nuances between the characters so they don't seem too dull and monotone. What I like the most is that they don't overdo anything, which is tempting for writers writing dramas of this sort. I say this because I've seen too many dramas of this type in the past that gave the audience too heavy a dose of everything, but not this drama. The misunderstandings didn't drag on too long, and the fights didn't result in anything exaggerated, etc, which gives this drama a softer tone to it, and hence, more real-life like. Again, the plot is nothing new, it stayed in the confines of this type of drama: a person with issue(s) but slowly changes because of another person's devotion and love. | Otousan [おとうさん]

interesting.. have never seen a drama with this kind of plot before.. took a lot of risk to do ne.. but why it was so successful must be due to the stellar cast, ninomiya, yamapi, oguri, narimiya suzuki and the supporting cast.. all of them did great.. not a super plot though, what struck me most were the words used.. they really meant a lot.. to give a message to the audience kana? i would say credit should go to anne-chan.. she portrayed just the right image for a girl like chie.. and she did it really well.. another character that left me touched was ken-ken ne.. i somehow would prefer chie together with him.. maybe because i always believe that guys who know what they want always wins in the end.. but somehow.. well.. still great, i think.. <33 | Umizaru [海猿]

Ok, this is definitely a typical macho movie where the guys get to flex their muscles and show off their superiority but it's also a very enlightening movie, never knew much about the dangers divers had to go through till I watched this movie.
It's also a movie for us gals to drool and the hunks in this movie, the guys certainly worked out well to show off their well toned bodies here. One of my fav scenes in this movie is of them in their birthday suits standing at the full length window looking out into the sea, phew, the temperature in my room rose to an all time high! hee hee
As the rest have said, it's mainly about the importance of the buddy system in this movie and about male bonding and working as a team and having faith in ur team.
