 Densha Otoko [電車男]
Started off real amusing..... then it just fell do [Rating: 7/10]
Initially the show was very energetic and things were really starting up. However over time the Main character just really gets on your nerves and seems to act nerdy for nerdy's sake. It makes the whole story incredibly unbelievable and really cheesy. | Gokusen [ごくせん]
Incredibly Cheesy GTO Clone [Rating: 5/10]
The show mixes things up with the Yakuza family aspect and has some funny moments. However the drama is mukkied up by too much excessive sentimental junk that serves no real purpose. The worst parts are the fight scenes that are rediculously campy where they're trying to portray her as this super heroine..... In the end the show fails in so many aspects in comparison to GTO that I found it rather dissapointing. This has got to be one of the most overrated Jdramas out there. I did enjoy watching it through, however the current placement under GTO on ratings is disgusting really. |

Pretty Much the same stuff all over again. Some amusing Yakuza Hijinks. Personally I found the first one a bit of a GTO ripoff gone wrong anyway so this didn't really help at all. | GTO [麻辣教師]
Fav Jdrama of all time [Rating: 10/10]
This is THE show that probably started the whole Jdrama spread in the USA, nuff said. To this day, it's still probably my favorite, though I have liked many others ;) Soramichi is king indeed. |
Hana Yori Dango [花より男子]
Good Ol Silly Fun [Rating: 8/10]
This wasn't the best show ever, nor was it the worst. I can say for certain it was quite a ride. Plus Hard gay was in it too ;). Either way the whole thing felt a bit rushed at the end. | Hotman [ホットマン]
Great show, not the best though [Rating: 8/10]
I find the characters quite enjoyable in this show. However Enzo's character does get annoying at times with his stubborness. Plus Soramichi is in it so that's always a bonus ;). The show in general is very cute and just easy going. |
Hotman Season 2 [ホットマン2]
A bit of a dissapointment [Rating: 7/10]
I enjoyed hotman, so of course I had to check out hotman 2. The first thing you'll notice is they replaced Shima's character with Misaki Itoh. That's a major minus in my book. I do like Itoh, however she's in way too many Jdramas now and I get kind of tired of seeing her everywhere. Plus her style in the 2nd series is incredibly different than the timmid Shima from the first show. Besides that, it's more of the same really. | Kekkon Dekinai Otoko [結婚できない男]
Great Jdrama with memorable characters [Rating: 9/10]
This has got to be one of my Fav Jdramas of all time for it's subtle Humor and Abe's performance. He really reminds me of a combination of Fox's House and Jack N. From "As Good as it Gets" Dr. Hayase is also incredibly amusing when she gets angry. As a man I feel the whole self-enjoyment aspect is portrayed with such stunning satisfaction I almost feel like going to the supermarket to cook myself a steak just for fun. This is a nice fresh start from all the whiny characters like the guy from Densha Otoko which eventually just piss me off. Oh yeah, did I mention his neighbor is a hottie too ;)? |

Mildly amusing Drama [Rating: 8/10]
I found this drama slightly less enjoyable than Hotman. However initially it's quite amusing watching Itoh and her Cheery shelf. however after awhile the brother's stubborness gets really annoying and it all goes downhill. | Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003 [高校教師 2003]

Quite an interesting show with some intruigue. The show is more of a social criticism on many aspects of Japan that I find quite worth analyzing. Either way the show is really character driven and is one of the only noirish Jdrama's I've seen. |

horray for yada Akiko [Rating: 9/10]
I think i'm a bit biased for liking this show since I didn't see tokyo love story before, I do enjoy christmas, and I'm a horrid Yada Akiko Fanboy ever since I saw yamato nadeshiko. But yeah... anyway the worst part of this show is probably the horrible Engrish in the opening song (Why lord why!?!?!). Very appealing story [Rating: 9/10]
I had recently graduated with a BA in a similar Degree as Kai so I found myself in many parallel situations and thoughts as him. Unlike him however, I did join that "watch company" though it's almost like a peek into what could have been ;)
But yeah, really how many deaf/blind people dramas do we really need? That whole aspect was a bit gimmicky |

This is one of those underdog shows that really gets you rooting for the team. This was the first one I saw (missed the movie initially) so it was all fresh in my mind. Plus Yuma Ishigaki was just awesome in this show as the big buff guy ;). | Water Boys Season 2 [ウォーターボーイズ2]

I mainly watched this one for the girls in the show. It was much hotness indeed. However too much of the plot was recycled from the first show for me to fully enjoy it though. I mean they even recycled the theme song =(. I expect progress not rehashes! |

I'm not sure why I loved this show so much. The Main character did piss me off at times, but the chemisty and pace was just right for me. Plus yada Akiko is very cute ;). In addition the opening song is very great. It's certainly one of the best romantic comedies i have ever seen. | |
