Taking school setting, it's not the same as GTO, Gokusen, Naomi etc. this is a serious drama although injected with cute and funny moments thanks to the student actors. Try get past few episodes before deciding because then will it grows on you. I'm surprised that I actually like this drama. Quite compelling I say. each episode ends with me feeling to watch everything continuously, and that said, I'm actually marathoning all episodes. sometimes somes of the scene might be quite far-fetched or unrealistic to some, but it's all good if you can digest them. I'm actually rooting for the hero and heroin a lot, they just gave me a very warm feeling. I found both so sweet, strong and innocent. the drama also deals with serious issues such as drug, teenage pregnancy, suicide etc, though sometimes I do feel that the issues are not dealt with deeply but still.... to me is a good watch. that surprised me because I read some review that comment it to be koizora-like - dealing with teenage love and serious issue liek pregnancy etc, and since I don't like koizora (the movie, and because of that I don't feel like watching the drama) I expect that I might not like Akai Ito very much. [COMPLETE.SS] dramas focusing on the around 40 generation, around 35-44 years old. even if you're not an 'arafo' to relate, you can still like this one; I am one of the example. It deals with problems faced by this generation and I believe is handled very well by the director and scriptwriter. amami yuki is perfectly fitted for her rol, I've always admire her; she's a beauty even at the age of 41 (her real age), she's strong, and she's a very good actress. Her chemistry with Naohito Fujiki got no complaints from me. They're compatible with each other, and their cute and funny interaction is really fun to watch. what got to me most are the reality shown in the drama, and how we're able to see the characters, problems develop in a natural way, and also the strong characteristic of satoko (amami yuki's character) with her strong ideal. other characters are woven well into the settings; the dissatisfied housewife, and the career women who is concerned more in the appearance of happiness than a real one. | Ashita no Kita Yoshio [あしたの、喜多善男]

This is pretty interesting especially because of the relationship and the interaction between the 7 lead actors. Without that I don't think I'll like this that much. The story isn't something I would prefer but the siblings made it work for me. They are fun to watch at. This is a comedy, expects few special effects here and there, overacting, lame toy inventions etc. (as the scripts and genre requires). This is probably not a GREAT drama, but if you are in need of some fun moment this might be it.

The handsome Hideaki Ito play a new lawyer with a sense of justice in the firm that has to work alongside Kuzu. Has many comedic moments. This was a nice watch. Kuzu's character is very unique and portrayed well by Etsushi. |

it kept me on the edge with all the surprises and twists which I think is its biggest plus point. If only it manages to keep the twists and surprises together with logical plot less plotholes, it would deserve more than the rating. I can't deny some of Third-I's movements somehow scream 'incompetent' example sending only few officers for an important mission when more can be dispatched to secure a mission. Other than that some of the occurances seems to have no logical reason behind it, lots of misses, and not everything is explained well at the end. Lots of question marks there. That's that, leaving all that minus points aside, the twists and surprises alone earn this 7.5 from me. It kept me on the seat impatient to know what happens next. If you love twists and surprises and you can forgive quite lots of plot holes and illogical movements of the so-called experts (third-i) then this might really interest you. |

love the veterans. I've always been impressed with Amami Yuki. And Yutaka has been one of my favourite actors. I need a break from the young'ins' dramas and enjoy those stars who shines back then in the 'pevious generation'. The earlier episodes however wer not up to my expectation since I expected lots from the combination between Amami Yuki and Yutaka but was given with few lame episodes which forced audiences to believe in the superiority of Eriko's (Yuki) character when I was not convinced for a bit. They are not really 'WOW' afterall. But then I somehow fairly enjoy the injected comedy, and was amused by Nodate's (yutaka) weird character. And what have been making me rate this an 8 has lots to do with ep7/8 onward because it was even funnier because of the characters and interaction of the crime-sumthing-section's members. I've always like drama with mystery undertone; like whudunit, why etc. This drma had that. and it also keeps me 'intrigued' to find out the truth, but that's that. while the plot, the twist can be pretty interesting laid down in words, it fails on screen. maybe it's just me. but I find it to be unrealistic, melodramatic like few reviews had pointed out. The hero's acting is very weak, I know he didn't have much experience in acting but still... I actually like his smile, but sometimes it seems forced. most of his acting seems forced actually. Maki's acting is nothing special either, just average. some characters seems so out of this world. so many insensitive people in the drama is also making it seems like a very old drmas where prejudice and awareness level were not like how it is today. the drama is the kind that I 'would' like; the story etc, but on screen - it fails me. And I found Kanon towards Junya in the beginning, Mizuki towards Junya, and Junya towards Kiyoka TOO OBSESSIVE. they lumped lots of obsessive people in a drama, nice... *sarcasm* |

Watched ep1-9 and it has been very entertaining and memorable. About a brainsurgeon who find himself back in the edo period. Watch the operations he carried out in the edo period with expertise of the future. Some historical figure made an appearance, such as the famous Sakamoto Ryoma portayed very uniquely and originally by Uchino Masaki. Am quite surprise that Osawa Takao make it back to the dorama industry. Ayase Haruka did surprisingly good. Though Koide Keisuke didn't really left an impression. Once an episode ends, there's this impatient urge for more.
finished watching. I initially gave this 9, but now it's 8. Ending is very important as it'll seal the drama (though there'll probably be a second season who knows and since the original manga is yet to be completed) and be a determinant of how you'd feel about a drama. The open end didn't bother me a bit maybe because I'm aware of the yet to be concluded manga it is based on. But the slow last episode does bother me since the earlier ones had been a great watch. It fails my expectation.
that said, overall it is a nice and good drama, and arguably one of the best and most interesting concept of the season (though my fav of this season is obviously a drama sequel; liar game 2)

COMPLETE. The drama is a simple drama.There is nothing extraordinary in it. But it was well-directed that the simplicity itself turned out to be very good and really amused me. It is a story about a love relationship between a teacher and student. But it's not a typical teacher and student love drama. It's not that their realationship is objected be it by the communitity or the family. But it is other than that. I don't want to say that I can feel the pain experienced by the actor and actress, but I want to say that I can SEE the pain. The actors and actresses really done really awesome jobs in this. All the characters were potrayed very well. Kudos to Narimiya Hiroki. His performance are PERFECT! So perfect, he suits the character well, and succeed in making his character so real. He impressed me so much that he can handle that character despite his young age. With his performance in Kou Kou Kyoushi, I give him a standing ovation. He is a talented actor and the entertainment industry should make use of it. That talent, if not use intelligently will be a big waste to the industry. The love between the main character is unbelievably makes me feel happy, sad and really touched my emotion. Even after I finished it, I can still feel their love in the air..... and I cried. people often worry that a sequel will destroy a drama. Most sequels are made because of the success of a drama, thus expectation will be high. unfortunately large number of sequels did bad and don't reach the standard Only few triumphed. liar game 2 is one of the fews ;)
I was excited to learn that there'll be a sequel for my favourite 'liar Game' though little bit worried that it won't be on par. But! It is great! and I might be enjoying this a little bit more than the first one. (based on ep1-7). I can't wait for the rest of the episodes. And the movie of the final round. On the issue of being one true self or yourself, I always believe that everything you do is your true self, it's all about how you control yourself, so it's not a good excuse. Can the criminal say, 'this is myself, I want to be myself, couldn't help it, changing it mkeans other person'. no, wrong. If you change it'll still be yourself. what i'm trying to say is, you can choose how to control yourself, so you can't use 'this is my real self' as an excuse. That's why I can't accept Michi's 'this is my real self'. this is not main issue though. for most, when you're feeling it your way I know you can't help to ask, 'I done nothing wrong. loving someone is not wrong', but in the eyes of the society, such love especially relationship between female teacher and underage boy, is something wrong. this comes back to individual perception or one that's carved by the rule of society. |

It was ceatively and uniquely adapted..... every episodes were full of values, wacky scenes, humour and seriousness. It becomes a bit dark as it progressed but still entertaining and has its own humour..... everything was directed nearly perfect. U got to love the episodes, the scene and definitely Akira wacky character, somehow hate Shuji's fake character but as the story went on began symphatizing him... You will love the friensdship between the 3 lead character... u'll love how each message is brought into screen.... it's not a plain, repetitive, same youth/school based drama, it's something different that deserve at least a watch, It's a pity to miss it, it's a great drama that deserve recognition. I must largely thank the witty dialogue for keeping this interesting. I personally think it's the strongest point for this drama. In ep 9 if i'm not mistaken, the scenes between the two brothers, I had some tears in my eyes but swiftly at the same time got me into laugh when the other staff interjected with some funny comments about the story of pig brothers. COMPLETE. The story starts of okay, then skyrocketed to be very great. I especially love the fourth episode. The drama brought up the dillemma and questions of real life and projected it creatively on the screen. at first I think it's pretty repetitive, one photo to be solved in each episode, going back and coming back. as the story progress I'm surprised that it's not that predictable and repetitive afterall... and how the director doesn't resort to easy problem solving, they find a way to put us to believe there's no way he can solve something when the hope seems faded at the very first moment he returned to the past.. but they managed to find some cool way to settle that. the thing bothering me is the ending! yes, I'm one of those who dislike the ending..that's why it's 9 instead of 10. I was in dilemma to give this either 8-9 but then I think the strong part of the drama, which is somewhere in the middle help me to give this a 9 |

it can be slow at times, but my most important concern is that the drama stroke a chord. I like the issue being tackled; of prejudice and discrimination. some might say that prejudice and discrimination overly portrayed. if it's so it won't be a problem to me, as I can definitely learn something from it. however as a counter for that, through reading others' experiences in Japan, I can say that it shed some light too to the reality; the arbitrary check of ID, the certain remarks on foreigners from certain country, the prohibition of non-japanese to some shop, restaurants and onsen, and many others. discrimination happens through out the world, but I don't think just because it's prevalent, we can just turn a blind eye. at least this drama portray some bitter reality out there. people should learn something from it. not to put your guard down though, but to strike a balance between being careful and being considerate. acting wise, Nakai Kiichi did great, Matsumoto Jun did good at times exerting the innocence aura but he did back at crying and emotional scenes. Yui stood there being pretty though acting ability is questionable. I like her, but that won't make me say she's a good actress because she's still far from it. Impression up till ep8; This is not a memorable drama. but while at it, it has been somehow enjoyable. I especially love the chemistry, interaction, random-conversation-at-crime-scene, etc between the two lead detective, Sou and Maruo. Though if in real life such behaviour is unwarranted, on screen they are precious. it definitely lighted up the screen for me. However I couldn't really take the random call by mother, and Sou's family-gathering well, it somehow annoyed me to an extent. I even see Oguri SHun in a different light now, I know that he can take different roles, that is evident in his different works in dramas and movies, he can take the mafia, the evil, the cool, and the good character and make it believable. this time around I see another role which is quite different from others he had taken before and again, it works. In fact I adore his style of realizing the character. Mizushima Hiro on the other hand needs to improve more. He can be a bit over the top at times, but can be interesting at other times. I've seen Yuriko in Love shuffle and was quite impressed by her in that, she is decent in this one but I won't say that she did excellent in this.
