101 Kaime no Puropozu [101回目のプロポーズ]
Great start, loses fizz towards the end [Rating: 6/10]
The first 7 episodes of this drama were great. Takeda and Eguchi's acting and comedy timing are just excellent. But after that, the drama went downhill with ridiculous plot twists. Asano does nothing in the whole drama but weep, tilt her head in a weird manner and mumble in a deep, morose voice. This could have been a great drama but turned out to be a mediocre one.
Hana Yori Dango [花より男子]
Horrendous drama, seriously! [Rating: 1/10]
I am surprised to see such appreciation for this third rate drama. The plot is so flawed and artificial that it is difficult to feel for any of the characters. Every character is so fake and the 'twists' in the story are downright irrational. How did such a poor family manage to send their kid to Eitoku? The height of ridiculousness was in episode 5 when they show the girl who got plastic surgery done just because she once was called ugly. And to add to it, she has henchmen! It is truly difficult, if not impossible, to find a more senseless drama. Save your time by not watching this piece of junk.
Hero
Disappointing to say the least [Rating: 4/10]
I expected a lot after reading the other reviews, but what a disappointing, poorly directed drama. -ves 1. very weak plot 2. filled with cliches, every scene is so predictable 3. third rate music (except for utada hikaru's song) 4. every episode is on its own, no flow in the story. The only positive thing about this drama is Matsu Takako's acting. Kimutaku is boring as usual, gives his weird smile from time to time. Don't waste your time seeing this drama!
Long vacation [ロングバケーション]
Lovely, moving drama [Rating: 9/10]
Very touching drama. The relationship between Sena and Minami was beautifully developed and there were so many scenes where the viewer could just feel the bond between the two. The ending of every episode was so well directed that one could not stop watching the next! Great direction, great acting by Yamaguchi-san and great music too! I just wish the ending were more exciting as the rest of the drama was. (-1 for that)
Sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu [世界の中心で、愛をさけぶ]
No words to describe this classic [Rating: 10/10]
The most beautiful drama ever I have never seen a drama with more authentic acting and direction with a beautifully developed, well-paced story. Every scene is so real and touching. Phenomenal performances by Takayuki and Ayase. The dialogues are so poetic that this drama is in a strata of its own. Every time the protagonist narrates his feelings and describes Aki, it is so moving and poignant. Unreal. If there is one drama you must ever see, it is this. Sekai no chuushin de "Sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu" to sakebu.
Tokyo Love Story [東京ラブストーリー]
Pretty good drama [Rating: 8/10]
I finally managed to watch this drama having wanted to see it for years. The plot was more original than I expected. Suzuki Honami's character is a bit irritating/fake at times, but her acting is brilliant. On the other hand, Oda Yuji's acting was downright pathetic with a perennial frown on his face. But the last few episodes were wonderful to watch and the ending is just superb and touching. And what can I say about the theme song by Oda Kazumasa, I could watch a drama just to hear his song play!
