I seem to be in the season of procrastinating again.

Attention Please [アテンションン プリース]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
I rarely give series an actual '10' unless they can go above and beyond with me. And thankfully, this show didn't disappoint. Aya Ueto does a wonderful job of pissing you off and making you feel proud for reasons you're not entirely sure of. While the other characters do a good job of being just that--characters--Aya manages to encompass an entirely different persona that just feels REAL. Definitely recommended for anyone who loves a good laugh and some outrageous antics :D

This was a really cute series. I admit I was first lead to it because of Nishikido Ryou (as I usually am with Johnny's boys...don't ask). I will admit there are some slow parts...and the sentimental bits can get tiring after a while. Thankfully, as the show progressed towards it's last episodes, it help enough zest to keep me interested in finishing it. I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys stories of triumph and overcoming the odds :)
Gokusen [ごくせん]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
In the case of Gokusen, adapted from the popular manga, I can honestly say this was one of the few series from any country that kept me interested and actually made me care about the characters. Kumiko's desire to honestly help her frustratingly delinquent students without letting her family (or their rather lucrative profession) affect her decisions is really heart-warming. Yukie Nakama does a phenomenal job of bringing Kumiko to life and Matsumoto Jun succeeds in making you want to disfigure his pretty-boy face.

I first discovered by the translation of the manga by TokyoPop. Initially, I was intrigued by it's premise--I'm sure anyone would be. Then again, most JDorama's are unlike anything any foreigner could preeminently imagine, no? Anyways, it wasn't available in subs on any torrent I could find, so I broke down and bought it. Watching it first RAW was a very enthralling experience, as I struggled to understand things. I'm glad I did, for much later, someone finally subbed it and I snatched it up. While different from the manga, it holds it own and flows in a way that optimistically frustrates the viewer, leaving you hungry for more. All around, I was very pleased with this series and would recommend it. <3Loch

I cannot rate this series in it's entirety as I have not had the chance to finish it. This is one of the poor victims of my flamboyantly procrastinate near-drunken lifestyle of my evolving early 20's. ;_:
