Antique [アンティーク〜西洋骨董洋菓子店] Clever, humourous. Great chemistry between the three main leads, plus of course Koyuki and Abe Hiroshi. I was drooling over the cute guys and scrumptious cakes! Fun to watch.
Beautiful life [ビューティフルライフ] Amazing story with a lot of deep messages. Like how you should learn to appreciate life because it doesn't last forever. Well done to both Tokiwa Takako and Kimura Takuya.
Gokusen [ごくせん] An endearing cast and storyline. It's fun and witty all the way through--you'll never get bored! Delightful.
GTO [麻辣教師] Wow! It is impossible to not like this drama. Touching, inspiring, entertaining--hilarious! Great cast, too.
Kimi wa Petto [きみはペット] Koyuki and Matsumoto Jun played their romantic roles well and had great chemistry together, despite the age gap. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. Watch it if you love a good romantic comedy with a twist.
Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003 [高校教師 2003] Definitely the best drama! Very romantic and touching, perfect if you like student-teacher pairings. Great acting, nice soundtrack, a fitting ending. Quite dark, though...
News no onna [ニュースの女] Cute, hilarious, touching! The bond that developed between the characters portrayed by Suzuki Honami, Nagatsuka Kyozo, and Takizawa Hideaki was extremely convincing.
Summer snow Natsuo: "We live each day without thinking about it, but life isn't something that everyone can have. It's the most precious thing in the world."
Yoiko no Mikata [よい子の味方] I watched this drama in one sitting and cried when it finished because I wanted more. Super sweet, super funny, and super cute. Wonderful acting by Sakurai Sho. If you aren't a fan of Sho, I guarantee you will be after watching this. It also has a great soundtrack, "Violet Flow" by Ruppina, and Arashi's own "Tomadoinagara". The perfect family drama!

Dohmoto Tsuyoshi [堂本剛] He is the best! Loved him in "Summer Snow" as Natsuo. He can not only act, but sings well in KinKi Kids! He leaves a great impression on me, so I believe he is very talented.
Fujiki Naohito [藤木直人] I first noticed him in "Antique" in a mysterious character. I was shocked after seeing him in GTO. The characters he played are so different! He is a versatile actor. His role in "Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003" was simply perfect.
Hirosue Ryoko [広末涼子] I fell in love with her after watching her co-star alongside Jean Reno in the movie "Wasabi". Her energy, optimism, and cute face really made her stand out and steal the show.
Kimura Takuya [木村拓哉] Undoubtedly Japan's best actor, he is truly a multi-talented person who is the most successful at what he does. I liked him in "Beautiful Life" and "Good Luck!!", as well as "Long Vacation".
Matsumoto Jun [松本潤] He was perfect as genki Goda Takeshi in "Kimi Wa Petto". I'm sure it was a little bizzare having to act as a pet dog, but he pulled it off brilliantly! And in "Gokusen" he was so kakkoi and had great chemistry with Nakama Yukie. He has a unique voice in Arashi.
Oguri Shun [小栗旬] Adorable in GTO and cool in "Gokusen". He changed so much...got taller and deeper voice. But! He is such a good actor!
Sakurai Sho [櫻井翔] Since watching "Yoiko No Mikata", I have been looking forward to more of this Arashi member's dramas. Even though it was his first lead role in a drama, I was struck by how well he acted and touched by his strong chemistry with the children. He is very handsome!
Takeuchi Yuko [竹内結子] She is very cute and pretty. She has worked alongside Japan's most famous actors, including Kimura Takuya (Pride), Dohmoto Tsuyoshi (Gakkou no Sensei), and Nagase Tomoya (Mukodono!).
Ueto Aya [上戸彩] Her performance in "Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003" was simply amazing! Ueto Aya possesses that natural cuteness that other actresses have to fake to achieve. She is very beautiful!

Ace wo Nerae! [エースをねらえ!] Rating: 6/10 (Bought & Watched) The OST is not very likeable, and the drama seems to be overly dramatic at times. Even if there is the lovely Ueto Aya, my idol, it is a little difficult to get into a drama that revolves around a sport. Still, this was okay...makes me want to play tennis like Hiromi!
Antique [アンティーク〜西洋骨董洋菓子店] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) A fun, light-hearted (and delicious) drama to watch, but I warn you, it will give you an uncontrollable urge to eat cake... Great job by all three main leads, plus Abe Hiroshi and Koyuki. In fact, I think "Antique" is Takizawa's best drama, where he finally portrays a cheerful and innocent person.
Beautiful life [ビューティフルライフ] Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched) An inspiring drama! Tokiwa Takako was convincing as a disabled person. Kimura Takuya's performance was memorable. The ending was tragic, but it fit perfectly well with the storyline, and left you with a great sense of fulfilment. A great message: live every day to the fullest because life is a gift, it doesn't last forever...
Gakkou no sensei [ガッコの先生] Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched) Very light-hearted. I don't very much like the ending when Sentaro leaves Tokyo. The kids were extremely annoying and loud, but Sentaro and Motoko's bickering was the best. The part when Motoko confesses to Sentaro was very cute!
Gokusen [ごくせん] Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched) All the characters were endearing, especially Yankumi and the five kids led by Sawada Shin. Very good acting throughout. It was so sweet how despite all the times they fought and fooled around, all the boys cared for each other and stuck up for one another. Cute sound effects, great theme song. Hilarious, uplifting and unforgettable!
Good Luck !! [グッドラック！！] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) It's surprisingly engaging. It may look boring because it takes place in an airport/airplane all the time, but it's not overloaded with characters and it has a good storyline. And of course, Kimura Takuya looks so kakkoi as a pilot!
GTO [麻辣教師] Rating: 10/10 This is one of the best dramas EVER. You will love Onizuka--he was so moving and inspiring and goofy! He always has an optimistic disposition, and this passes on to his students. This was funny, funny, funny! A must-watch!
Hana Yori Dango [花より男子] Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched) This is a must-watch drama! Impressive female lead (Inoue Mao) and of course, Matsumoto Jun is surprisingly convincing as Domyouji Tsukasa. As a person who has read the manga, I truly appreciate how romantic, funny, and entertaining this drama is. Also, great theme songs by Arashi and Otsuka Ai!
Keizoku [ケイゾク] Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched) Really good mystery drama! This is a new genre than what I'm used to, but I was pleasantly surprised. There is a lot of suspense and it is very engaging watching Shibata Jun and her partner try to solve the "unsolved cases" from the past.
Kimi wa Petto [きみはペット] Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched) Kawaii! Koyuki, one of my favourite actresses, did so well; Jun is a good actor and I think he played the role of pet dog better than anyone else could have. I loved the adorable puppies and Jun's ballet. I wish it was actually possible in real life to own a cute human pet named MOMO but it's not! But that's why we watch dramas!
Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003 [高校教師 2003] Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched) Definitely the saddest drama I have ever watched thus far. The story itself is a classic--a young high school girl falls in love with her new teacher who is diagnosed with cancer and therefore only has one year to live. Great job by Ueto Aya and Fujiki Naohito. I highly recommend it!
Long vacation [ロングバケーション] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) This drama isn't a classic for no reason. I adored the characters of Minami and Momo-chan! Yamaguchi Tomoko is an amazing actress. Kimura Takuya, he is SO natural. "Long Vacation" was endearing with its quirky characters and wonderful soundtrack. Plus, you will be left smiling with the ideal happy ending!
Lunch no Joou [ランチの女王] Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched) It was amusing how all the brothers ended up falling for Natsumi. The food looked delicious, especially rice omelette avec demi glace sauce. Takeuchi Yuko was lovely, while Yamashita was kawaii! Watch out for a cameo by V6 member Morita Go!
Majo no jouken [魔女の条件] Rating: 1/10 (Watched) HORRIBLE!! I'm really sorry I watched this drama (my very first Japanese drama). The lead actress was so naive and clueless. It was disgusting to watch how she corrupted a poor boy nearly a decade her junior. I absolutely HATE this.
Mukodono! [ムコ殿/女婿大人] Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched) The perfect family drama. The plot is unique and interesting, the characters are all so appealing and hilarious. My favourites were Kaede, Satsuki, Tsutomu, and of course Yu-chan and Sakura! Their adoration for each other was charming. The last two episodes are very sad, though.
News no onna [ニュースの女] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) I love this drama as it is very fun to watch! I enjoyed the touching stepmother-son relationship that developed between Aso Tamaki (Suzuki) and Ryu (Takizawa). I loved Nagatsuka Kyozo's character (Kubata-san), plus Fujiwara Norika did a great job as Aso-san's rival. Highly recommended!
Over Time [オーバー・タイム] Rating: 5/10 (Watched) Okay, I guess. But still, for me, this drama is overrated. Good soundtrack, however I did not cry, nor laugh. Plus, I felt that Kimura Yoshino's character was very annoying. So clingy... I also cannot stand Esumi Makiko. Even still, I liked Fuyumi and Soichiro the best.
Star no Koi [スタアの恋] Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched) This drama is pretty good! It was very heartwarming and very entertaining. I was touched by the strong friendship between Sousuke-san and his co-workers at San Marco Ham. Plus, Fujiwara Norika is absolutely GORGEOUS as the star, Kirishima Hikaruko!
Strawberry on the shortcake [ストロベリー・オンザ・ショートケーキ] Rating: 4/10 (Watched) Okay. Though I felt it kind of dragged...and there was too much talking. Takizawa Hideaki was good in this as always. I like Kubozuka Yosuke. But I advise you to skip this one, it's not great.
Summer snow Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched) Every character--Natsuo, Yuki, Hiroto, Jun, Chika--had remarkable acting skills and great chemistry together. The love between Natsuo and Yuki is so simple and innocent. The soundtrack was beautiful. The ending is unpredictable and makes me cry so hard every time I watch it. I recommend this drama to everyone!
Yoiko no Mikata [よい子の味方] Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched) The cutest drama ever! It is so sweet and moving. It will make you cry MANY times. The kids were all adorable, especially Kenta-kun. Sakurai Sho did a fantastic job as happy-go-lucky Suzuki Taiyo. His unconditional love for children is very touching. I highly recommend this drama!
