Bloody Monday [ブラッディ・マンデイ]
Halfway through - Loving it! [Rating: 9/10]
I just finished episode 5 (I think - perhaps 6, but probably 5) and I have to say, so far, I am completely addicted. This drama is an amazing emotion-twister, and the director & writer are masters at suspense. Ebola and diseases like that I fear anyway, so this is not a show if you are looking for something light. The virus scare at the mall, in the first episode, practically made me cry - The agents were so determined to do their duty in the face of demise, and you saw the poor old ladies praying, and little kids crying... it was intense. With that said... ---WARNING ~ IF YOU READ FURTHER, THERE ARE (MAJOR) SPOILERS.--- My favorite character was Houshou Sayuri by far. (Spoiler) - I would have never in a million years seen her betrayal coming! I really liked how sensitive and yet tough & determined, plus beautiful, she was... but, then... Episode 4 (along with 1) was my favorite. Her betrayal was done epically, but.. the motives were really off-key to me. I mean, so your brother was wrongfully killed - that shouldn't make you want to work with bio-terrorists and kill a ton of innocent people with a virus crossbread! I thought it was amazing though how, despite turning into a terrorist... she was still sensitive - she made sure Fujimaru was warm while sleeping, she returned his USB stick, and she DID love Haruka. Her death scene, and Fujimaru calling her an all-around bad person (which... is a moral debate), made me cry! But anyway, yes, you really need to watch this drama. =)
