Code Blue: Doctor Heli Kinkyu Kyumei [コード・ブルー]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
I really started this show because Tomohisa and Aragaki was in this. Unlike a bunch of medical dramas this first season actually focused mostly on medical procedures rather than character depth. Still I found a bunch of characters annoying. The most memorable scene was probably Kousaku's relationship with his grandmother. Shed a few tears or so.
Dragon Zakura [ドラゴン桜]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Dragon Zakura was part motivating part frustration. So many characters were annoying to the point that I stopped caring for them at some points. Abe Hiroshi was good, but with such a premise, it's hard to compliment this drama and his role.
GTO [麻辣教師]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
I read the manga before I watched it. It (the drama) was good nonetheless. I think they made the romance a bit more obvious, since the manga only featured Onizuka helping just about every one of his students with their problems (at least 5 kids wanted to commit suicide :|). Probably one of my all-time (anime) role-models. Ridiculously strong and stupid at times, but have all the wisdom in the world to help other people. Students and teachers and parents alike.
Hero
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
It was funny when it needed to be. And serious when it needed to be. Still, most of the cases are rather forgettable to me. It was my first drama with Takuya Kimura, and I hope I get to see some more of his dramas.
Ikebukuro West Gate Park [池袋ウエストゲートパーク]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
My first dorama, so obviously my rating is skewed. The mystery was pretty obvious around the half though. Ken Watanabe is awesome, and Tomoya Nagase was great.
Kekkon Dekinai Otoko [結婚できない男]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
My friend had told me this was all about subtle humor... and he was right. Most of the dialogues are nothing to LOL about. But it was still funny stuff. Abe Hiroshi excels as the "kekkon dekinai otoko". The bit of romance throughout was just the right amount for me without feeling too melodramatic.
Liar Game [ライアーゲーム]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
I got really bored and hoped the manga would continue. And so I started the live action of liar game. Near the end they really modified the contraband game and introduced a guy behind the Liar Game. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either.
My Boss, My Hero [マイボスマイヒロ]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
This is probably Tomoya Nagase at his yakuza best. It got a bit too serious at the end though, but it really changed my view on my high school years. It really is a time to enjoy time with friends, even if at times it is difficult to deal with exams, relationships, and family problems.
Shinzanmono [新参者]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
At first impression, a criminal investigation drama? After a few episodes, it was more about Koichirou's job to assist everyone was who involved in the murder. It was pretty emotional stuff, but I'm more of a comedic type of guy so I wasn't too into it.
Tiger & Dragon [タイガー&ドラゴン]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
I couldn't tell who was more funny, Tomoya or Junichi. Tora and Ryu. All the supporting characters was great too. All in all this was a comedy done right. I'm glad it didn't get too serious near the end, since that seems to be the case for most j-dramas.
Trick [トリック]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Abe Hiroshi is ridiculously funny. That alone is worth it. And the mysteries all the more made Hiroshi evne more funnier. Great stuff.
Unubore Deka [うぬぼれ刑事]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Someone said Tomoya Nagase looked like Ken Watanabe in one of his suits. I can seen the resemblance. Anyways, this series was repetitive. It got a bit tedious to see Unubore offer a marriage certificate and crying at the end of every episode. Despite that, this show is incredibly funny (but not for everyone, obviously). Unubore 5 is definitely the highlight of this series. Next would be Unubored himself and his dad. Their narcissism is so awesome.
Utahime [歌姫]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Ah the ending was truly bittersweet, in every sense of the word. All the romance cliches are there as well. Loads of misunderstandings, coincidental eavesdropping, inability to confess, and so on. Tomoya Nagase is still awesome though. And Saki Aibu was cute here.
