Long vacation [ロングバケーション] It has a great message, nice story, excellent chemistry between the cast, and nice music!! I really like the atmosphere of this drama.
Nemureru mori [眠れる森] One of the most suspenseful dramas I've ever seen. I was really glued to it, wanting to see the next episode after next. It has a great cast, excellent acting. Nice choice of music to fit the drama. And the story will keep you guessing. I even enjoyed watching the whole series for the 2nd time with a friend.
Tokyo Love Story [東京ラブストーリー] Classic! The drama that started it all. A very touching story. Any drama lover with good taste would have this drama on the top of their list. It has it all. The DVD is worth buying.

Kimura Takuya [木村拓哉] Oh well... even from a guys' point of view, we say that he is good looking. I'm not ashamed (nor gay) to admit that. But he also has a great natural acting talent. And also is in a major singing group (SMAP) and a good singer.
Suzuki Honami [鈴木保奈美] I never cared for a character as much as hers in Tokyo Love Story. Her performance was amazing. Kanji is an idiot! But we all know that nice guys finish last and girls go for that type, unfortunately.
Yamaguchi Tomoko [山口智子] I liked her in Long Vacation. She was really funny and natural. She seems like a really cool and fun girl to hang out with.
Long vacation [ロングバケーション] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) One of my favorite dramas! This drama had a lot of good messages in it. Yamaguchi Tomoko as Minami was great!!! And Kimura Takuya's character in this drama was probably his best personality in a drama. Both of them had a real nice chemistry. The music in this drama was really nice as well (including the theme song). I enjoyed watching every episode. Minami would be cool to hang out with! The ending was okay...
Love generation [ラブジェネレーション] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Love Generation took a lot of the ideas from the classic drama, Tokyo Love Story. Granted, I'm taking off points because it's not very original. Even the girl's name, Riko (from Love Generation) is similar to the name Rika (from Tokyo Love Story)... Hmm. Ironically, there is a scene in Tokyo Love Story where this one kid on the train calls Rika, Riko instead. Although, Matsu Takako (Riko) did a good job (even though she was a bit annoying in the beginning), she clearly is trying to be like Suzuki Honami's (Rika) character. Haha, are you still with me on the Rika and Riko thing? Okay, whatever. Obviously not everything is the same but there sure are a lot of similarities. I mean, it does have some of its own moments (like the ending for episode 5 was... cute). At first it seemed really cheesy between the two, like, why is this Riko girl seriously obsessed with this Teppei (Kimura) guy even though he was clearly treating her like crap? (I guess it really is true how girls go for that type than the typical nice guy?) But anyways, later on, I guess they do match together. Some of the episodes were really good, but then it kind of dragged on between the two always fighting. It was sort of like watching between a real reality couple. The theme song for this drama is nice, it's one of those songs that really grow on you after hearing it many times. It also has CAGNET (Long Vacation). The soundtrack for this drama is VERY GOOD! I also liked the entire cast as well. Overall, it was memorable and there's definitely chemistry between the characters. I would probably watch it again. Remember though, this drama pretty much copied TOKYO LOVE STORY! It's not the other way around.
The ending was a bit cheesy for me too.

Tokyo Love Story [東京ラブストーリー] Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched) Well, majority of the people agree that this is truly a classic. I'm a guy and this drama seriously made me cry, quite often! (Mostly for Rika). And I'm the type who hates those really cheesy type dramas but this isn't. The story, the music (especially the theme song), and the characters are excellent! It really is a sad story, not to mention the ending! It was a huge hit back then and I still enjoy watching it today (even though it's been more than 10 years!). The drama may feel a little out dated to young viewers. Especially since not a single cell phone appear in the entire drama! Technology sure advanced... But anyways, it's nice looking back how it was then. All you youngsters who think Good Luck or dramas like Gokusen is better... Ha!!! The people who gave this drama a low score are most likely the ones who think those types of dramas are the best. So yeah, what the hell do they know? Another factor someone might not like it, could be that they just don't understand Japanese, and didn't get much out of some crappy fan-made subtitles? Other than that, I really can't understand why anyone would give this drama a low score. Every episode made me want to see the next. Riko's character was great, never really cared for a character as much as hers. I could really feel for Rika when she felt sad (especially on the train scene). This is one of the best and saddest drama ever, in my opinion. And like I said, I'm sure most, (with some heart and good taste in dramas) would definitely agree as well.

Friends [フレンズ] Kyoko needs to learn to act than speak Korean! [Rating: 5/10] Fukada Kyoko can't act! There is not much happening in this drama. No wonder there are only 4 episodes. I'm sure some girly girls may think it is a sweet and cute drama but it REALLY is cheesy. It's like a half an hour TV show where the problem is solved right away. It would be better if they both at least knew how to speak English! I think that's how it should be if it's going to be a Korean/Japanese relationship drama; that'd be more believable and viewable. In reality, those two would not work out, especially if it were to be a long term relationship. They were just attracted to each other's looks! There's no way it has to be personality, they can't even understand each other and were apart many times. And please, don't give me this love-at-first-sight-fate-destiny crap. Okay, I'll be nice and say it's not terrible (as I did watch it until the end, I only comment on dramas until I watch the whole series.) but it's DEFINITELY not great either. I think people that gave high ratings are biased, and are just rating on the cast itself, because it has this Won Bin or whatever, they give it a high rating. But I on the other hand, rate it as it is. If you haven't seen it then you're really not missing out much.
Nemureru mori [眠れる森] A DEEP DARK TWISTED DRAMA, BUT FULL OF SURPRISES [Rating: 10/10] A really strange drama but has a whole lot of suspense to keep you guessing! Every character in this drama seriously has problems. The pace of the drama may feel a bit slow to some people because it has a lot to cover for the story, (especially in the middle parts) but it pays off in the end. And it does have its moments every now and then. Every episode also ends on a climax so you'll be eager to see the next! The story is really deep (not really a feel good drama) but it makes you think about it a lot. If you thought it was boring then you probably didn't get it. This drama would be a waste if you don't watch it till the end. I brute forced it and saw the whole series in one day. I was that hooked! It might be a little confusing at times but it'll eventually be all clear. But if you love dramas that make you think then you'll enjoy it. Definitely not a typical Kimura Takuya love drama! To me, Kimura Takuya seemed like a detective in this story. If you love suspenseful stuff then check this one out. Good casting, excellent acting, very weird and yet disturbing story but interesting. Another hit from Kimura Takuya. Personally, I didn't enjoy the whole hypnotism, hallucination, flashback scenes, the scary looking mom and what she made her son do! *Barfs* But the rest were good.
