English-subbed doramas are very difficult to come by, here in the Pacific NW (U.S.A.) I am looking all over the internet for information on the shows I *wish* I could be watching...
Kindaichi Shonen no Jikembo Season 3 [金田一少年の事件簿 3] Rating: 8/10 (Bought) This show was really fun. I've never seen the first two series, and I know a lot of people prefer the original cast. But this cast did a good job. The show is more involved with solving the bizarre, often bloody murders than it is with developing the relationship between Kindaichi and Miyuki. Which to me, is a plus. But there are enough humorous asides and sweet moments to keep the romantic viewer satisfied.
Nemureru mori [眠れる森] Rating: 9/10 (Bought) This show was put together surprisingly well. I had heard that the ending was a surprise, and the last episode lives up to that promise. I was so surprised, in fact, that I debated over whether or not to hurl my VCR out the window. But really, the cast was wonderful, the story was tragic (without being overdone), the theme song is great, and the opening credit sequence is fantastic.
