I'm indifferent about AKIRA. Never seen him acting before. And I dunno much abt Toyotomi Hidekatsu, just from the novel, seem like he speaks his mind freely and likes to laugh alot. I dunno abt his acting/portrayal or his chemistry with Juri-chan. But as far as he looks, he's quite okay, I guess.

IDK but the acting skill, so not put in high standard, but have high expectation about their chemistry cause somehow if I remember yanie_chan mention that Hidekatsu was Gou's first love (in novel) and Saeki' word in Tatsuko no Heya trailer mention "you have to value those feeling" when we got to see this...
kinda imagine that was the last look before he went to war... *too much watch drama :p*

Hidekatsu do laugh a lot in real life. Love he mention mistake he made on the set and asami-chan had to "sshhh" him. I kinda hope to see Mukai already being Hidetada (the look+dress). guess the staf still don't wanna to reveal that

Episode 14 of GOU titled "Rien seyo"(Divorce) was aired on April 17. This episode tells how Gou and her first husband, Saji Kazunari, got married and then got divorced. Her short marriage life with the first husband was told in one episode, but Hashiba Hideyoshi's wickedness stood out more in this episode.
GOU's Hideyoshi had been criticized as a "Foolish(Ridiculous) Lord" so far. Sen-no-Rikyu (Ishizaka Koji) can see through his secret intentions, One (Otake Shinobu) is always in disbelief with everything he has done, and he always shows disgraceful/shameful behaviours in front of Ishida Mitsunari (Hagiwara Masato). He lacks the basic charms of Hideyoshi that got him chosen by Oda Nobunaga, which are quick-witted and skill in deceiving people. Even if it's a standard procedure, that Toyotomi Hideyoshi is described as the evil one among the Three Great Heroes of Sengoku, like one of his bad side which he shows in the Imjin War and all, but it is very unusual for an adaptation to make him look so bad even before he become the ruler of Japan.
The problem of GOU's Hideyoshi is, he looked like a fool straight from the beginning. He has a wicked intention of wanting to make Ichi and Chacha as his. In this drama, Hideyoshi's mind seem to be only about that. Although he always deny it in public, but every character around him can easily see that intention. And this drama lacks the points of why a sharp and able person like Ishida Mitsunari can be loyal to this Hideyoshi.
However, Hideyoshi in this episode have started to act the way he suppose to be. Hideyoshi forced Gou to separate from her husband, but he used a mean planned scheme. And then he confessed his planned scheme in front of Gou, Chacha, Hatsu, One and Mitsunari. He let Gou to feel angry toward himself, and he seem to be in joy to see Gou getting angry. Apparently this Hideyoshi is a pure evil without any good points left. However we can consider the fact he confessed about his scheme as honesty. It's quite a contrast with the part when he was lying to Gou that the marriage was to stop the war with Oda Nobukatsu.
Maybe we can say that his character of "I'll do what I want", "I'll get what I want" is his evil charms. It is one of the reason why the brutal dictator, Hideyoshi, became the popular "TAIKO-san". In terms of that, we can say that this episode is the turning point of where Hideyoshi started to show his trueself to people around him. The flashy Osaka castle which was the reflection of Hideyoshi's interests and preferences, has just been completed as well in this episode. The more honest Hideyoshi is one of the highlight of the story from now on.
Apparently this Hideyoshi is a pure evil without any good points left.
that's why the hug scene in ep.15 make me more curious cause that statement TRUE

Actually Saji Kazunari will still appear in Ep15. And reading the synopsis for that ep15, seem like Gou will make an attempt to escape from the Osaka castle, but the castle was so big and wide, that she got lost on the way. So she failed the attempt XD
I hope she can make contact with Kazunari-sama for one last time

Not sure of your "jerk" context, but as far as I read his history... Hideyoshi did many bad deeds. He really did separate Gou and Saji Kazunari, by sending Gou a false letter that Chacha is sick, that's a fact. The Imjin war was one of his "jerk" deed, I believe.
While it was also a fact that Nobunaga really drank sake with Azai Nagamasa's skull. (the drama denies that fact, to make Etsushi's Nobunaga look better)
However, Nobunaga was more on the violent side, while Hideyoshi was more on the cunning side. But both are evil rulers. Ieyasu used dirty tricks as well to gain power, after Hideyoshi's death.
Each of the ruler had their own evil sides, I believe. I guess no kind man can be a ruler^^ _________________

I'm sure he'd look bad, when he starts sending off Gou and Hidetada's little daughters to be married to other families, using them as political tools^^
But I dunno, even in AOI Tokugawa, where many bad sides of Ieyasu were shown, I still admire him the most among the Three Great Heroes of Sengoku^^ Maybe he IS the most saint one among the three^^ I think, I was just disgusted with the fact he has so many young concubines, even at 60s years of age _________________

What I meant was that Hideyoshi seems to lack any morals: he lacks honesty, he's manipulative, he's spoiled and acts like a child a lot of times.
At this point, he's easily the most irritating character in he Taiga... Any comeuppance he gets is much deserved.

Not surprised... Various things are going to be changed or sanitized as you'd expect from a dramatization... People expecting a documentary of the Sengoku period need to go somewhere else.

I think we've seen and are seeing those aspects in the Taiga... A chess game with multiple players and real lives at stake.
I getting rather exhausted (actually sick of it) by the criticism of this Taiga, especially over at D-A...
I'm going to constrain myself to the discussion of the Taiga itself and not how it compares to real history, or the ages of the actors vs. their roles , or how people keep seeing Nodame, or other nitpicky crap that's going to ruin my enjoyment of this series....

You need to take it with a grain of salt I was just laughing reading them I've gotten used of reading criticisms toward something I love, I guess. (due to the fact that my favs are SMAP and Arashi )
Actually, I AM surprised that someone like Ueno Juri gets criticized as well. I thought she's an excellent actress. Guess not all people agree with that.
Oh no... imagine the whole criticisms that will point at Mukai Osamu's portrayal as Hidetada, later. (I'm a fan of Mukai) I need to be ready for that, yosh!
I've really enjoyed Ep8-14 so far, nothing went wrong at all. (Ep4-7 were the lowest points, for me, though) _________________
