Ok the ending was a bit vague. So was it the mother pretending to be the daugther or the daugther pretending to be the mother all that time? I think its the former but I'm not sure because why would she do that? To live her own life as her daughter??? Confused! Rolling eyes

In my understanding, the mother pretended to be her daughter after 2 years passed, to easy their pain, (more like confusion) But gave it away on the marriage when she scratched her husband chin.

At first after this event I thought the mother managed to return to this very special event, but she stayed silent when he asked "it was you all this time?" so I concluded it was her all the time.....

Movies and books have may interpretations, is up to the person watching reading to do that. But I guess there's always the "official" writer/director interpretation

Edit:

Thanks Prince for hosting those movies and Gokusen on your site, that Korean movie, A Day, is a sugoi tear jerker, haven't cried that much since watching "A Scene at the Sea"

The thing is she and her husband can never be together intimately or otherwise. I think she decided to to do what she did because her husband is being tormented by the whole thingsso i guess she decided to have him moved on with his life. Maybe her husband might get together with that high school teacher. Overall i like the movie Ryoko was beautiful in it.

It was the mother at the ending, she give it away when she scratched the guy's chin.. quite a suprise eh? I thought it was really her daughter.

To confirm this, remember when the father say 'I need to punch you, 2 times, 1 for taking my daughter, another one is for taking someone important to me'

And that she brought her 'wedding ring' in the wedding.
It was a nice discussion when the first day I released it, we are talking about the ending and alot of "OMG!"s

=P

Well he took it rather well for a guy who is giving away his wife!

That also means the daughter is gone, how sad.
