yesterday i bought "Zatoichi" i find this movie interesting through the dvd
cover it has this white haired samurai, it says that he is known bec. of his hair, but hs not caucasian.

i have this attitude that whenever i saw a jmovie

i'll sure to buy them regardless if they are bad or good

the problem is:

"is it worth spending my time watching this movie?"

Kotaro Koizumi? I didn't know that! Guess I better watch out for him! My mom thinks Oda Yuji is handsome after watching him in Mayonaka No Ame

I just got a six movie box set of Shungi Iwai movies, and I'm over the moon.

"Undo" "Butterfly Swallowtail" "Lily Chu" "Love Letter" "Picnic" "April Story".

I went after the set because Tomoko Yamaguchi is in two of them, and Matsu is in another, and they are all directed by Iwai, so I figured it was worth futzing around on ebay to get them.

Anyway, if you're a fan of any of the above... these are indeed DVDs rather than VCDs. The English subs are very good, and easy to get to. And they do play on both of my Region 1 DVD players.

I'm not selling them. Not here, not anywhere. I'm just saying that if you're a fan, and you see one of these six disc box sets for sale... the one I got sure worked out for me.

I also got a copy of Kaizo Hayashi's "Cat's Eye" staring Yuki Uchida... just because you can't go wrong with a movie that features Yuki Uchida in a latex catsuit, fighting crime.

Now I just have to find Hayashi's third Miki Hamma movie, "Wana" staring Tomoko Yamaguchi, and I'll be a happy guy.

Keep in mind I like cheesyness and tend to like lighter stuff, or action stuff. Battle Royale I enjoyed, though I felt it could have been better. Loved the instructional video with a hearing a voice from Eva. BR2 is nowhere as good, I would say pass on it. Very pedestrian in comparison, none of the student interactions that made the 1st interesting.
Versus I really liked, but I know a lot of people won't. It's more an excercise in style. Unfortunately Azumi fell a bit short, only thing that really saved it for me was Ueto Aya. The ending was messed up, needed to be edited.
Shirayuki Hime (Lady Snowblood) is definitely recommended by me. No humor in this one. Much better than the recent retelling (forgot title) which had flashy martial arts work, but nowhere as solid portrayal of the character and story. See where much of Kill Bill came from. The actress does an awesome job and the story is solid in it's singlemindedness. The sequel once again is nowhere as good and you'd be just as well off not seeing it.
Just saw Zatoichi, the Kitano version. Good, but I didn't think it was quite as great as my friend made it out to be. What was with the tap dancing?!
Samurai Fiction was good with a bit of fun tossed in.
Twilight Samurai was good, more conventional samurai/jidai geki film.
Cat's Eye a guilty pleasure to pass some time with.
Ichi the Killer, has lots of crtical aclaim, but I did not like it. Yes it's brutal warped & hard to stomach, but that doesn't necessarily turn me off. I just didn't think it was that good.

Song of the Canefields was good but sad! I liked it! I've been hesitatin to watch the movie earlier due to a war theme. I feel hurt seeing innocent ppl gettin killed in war Sad
Battlefield Baseball, a let down! Harmful Insect, pure rubbish!!!

Watched Sky High after midnight, in the dark room, hehe. Watched till the scary part (scary soul with horrified eyes). That's it! I called it a night and went to sleep. Will resume today, not at late night! Gotta watch all the movies on the comp so I can delete em.

HAHAHAAHAHA...Ando's fan is increasing Twisted I bought those that you've watched..let see...Adrenaline is good, Red Ninja is ok, Satorare is so so good, Space travellers (It got him and Kaneshiro in it, not too mention Watanabe Ken) is unique and entertaining Smile

I haven't watched any J-movies yet, the last one was Odoru and Battle Royale 2. Perhaps I'm thinking of ordering Dragonhead from cdjapan.

Sky High was a total let down. Don't let the "Kitamura" title fool you, not a guaranteed good stuff anymore. Basically, the movie is like one of his previous movies, Alive. Loads BS at the beginnin and the swordfighting at the end, expect nothing till the last battle. The swordfighting is rather clumsy due to the actors' lack of agility. Waiting for da bomb stuff from Kitamura.

Gonna watch Messengers tonight, featurin Naoko Iijima Lovey Eyes with a SMAP dude, Kusanagi Tsuyoshi. Oh yeah!

"Zatoichi and the Chess Expert."

I loved that movie.

Oh wait! Pointless comment. I've never seen a Zatoichi movie that I didn't love.
