He is quite amazing don't you think. His speaking voice is so varied and so interesting. Normal conversation is pleasant and then when he is emoting during a song or in a role then his voice takes on that depth. No matter how much makeup or costuming he is always masculine.

@ Peg - I know you see him as always masculine, but don't you think he is purposely going for the androgynous factor? That photo with the lace tights and black patent leather hot pants and maxi coat is just an example of what I mean. I actually like that he emits both masculine and feminine energy.

Well I do agree that he looks right whatever he wears and the makeup is always done so carefully. It is just that even when is is quite outrageously dolled up I still think of him as a real man. Now when Kimura is dressed up as one of the 'Sex in the City' gals he is obviously in drag. Then when he does that marvellous geisha fan dance Kimura has completely vanished and it is a woman performing. I don't quite know how to describe these two guys but they are undoubtedly very talented.
They take their art very seriously even when it is for fun.
I still have the opinion that Gackt would look beautiful if he had no makeup on his face.

I agree with you 100%, Gackt would look beautiful with or without makeup. I think the question is what is the everyone's definition of a 'real man' Unfortunately too many folks think that when a man shows a feminine side he is no longer a 'real man.' Some folks think it is a sign of weakness when in actuality I think it takes courage to allow the feminine side to emanate. Can you tell I watched the movie Ed Wood recently?

I admire people who are so balanced that they can evoke all sides of their nature.
I think Gackt and also Kimura are able to enjoy whatever they are feeling at any moment. I know that Kimura has had the experience of going through a real genuine sweatlodge with a Native American tribe in US. He was a changed person afterwards. I think that gave him a deeper understanding of himself and what goes on in the world.He is very centred and lives each moment and appreciates lots of differences.
It seems to me that Gackt has had many wide experiences from childhood and he has a good understanding of human beings. Of course this may all be wishful thinking on my part but I usually get a sense about people that is pretty accurate.
It always seems easier to me to feel things about people without actually being in their company. That in fact, is putting up a facade and not so easy to get through. A strong personality can throw me off. Certainly I would be drinking in the charms and auras of these two guys if I met them ....:-)

@Peg - If you can find the time and you would enjoy seeing Johnny Depp wearing a pink angora sweater and high heels then Ed Wood is the movie to see. I think I am the opposite of you, I am better at picking up people's vibes in person and am more likely to misread a person's personality when not in their actual company. Yes I agree both Gackt and Kimura Takuya are very interesting man who are definitely marching to the beat of their own drum. Good for them! To meet either one of them would be delightful!
