Fell for Gackt when random surfing on de net then d/led Vanilla... changed my life 4eva hahahahah... then as i listened to more of his songs, discovered more sides to his music... my favs rite now r fragrance, hoshi no suna and orenji no taiyou... de latter is such a beautiful song by de 2 artistes dat i admire de most... Gackt n Hyde!
found out abt Hyde during his Roentgen album... then onto his laruku songs n now his 666 album... so versatile...

yes... i hope so
about gackt liking vivian hsu, i think that's just rumours.. gackt learned mandarin from his friends and that's even before he met vivian. haha... and God knows why he wants to learn to speak chinese... i'll just cave off to my dreamworld and take it that he wants to learn my mother tongue!!

he learnt some from leehom..^^..
he sounds so weird when he sings orenji no taiyou in mandarin..
hehe..still sounds very jpnese to me..
at least he knows all the important languages now

ano, I don't know a lot about asian lanuguages, but are mandarin and chinese diffrent languages? *hides in corner*
I only know that Gackt can speak mandarin quite well (he once spoke in a tv show, some years ago already...)
I really like Gackt's music a lot. He's voice is one of the best I've ever heard ... and it's kinda unique, means, you'll recognize his voice in the very first second, ne ^-^
But there was also a time, when I got the feeling that Gackt acts way too posh on stage ... but then I realised, that this is his way, and that he can be totally diffrent (has anybody seen his visit in Afrika? So kawaii, when he played with the children there and thought them to count in japanese ^-^)
Gackt will definetely always be one of my favs ever ^x^
guys~ u all must go and d/l Gackt-kun 'Juunigatsu no Love Song' in Heyx3 on 22nd Dec. my jaws dropped when i saw that clip.. at first, i was thinking ok, it's a must-sing song near X'mas for him.. but then it's a Chinese version~!! (maybe i'm ignorant~~) but this is the 1st time i see/hear Gackt-kun sing in Mandarin! *faint* and his pronunciation was quite accurate~~
i love him. he cracks me up trying to play cool. he is very cute, he is girly-handsome, but playing cool spoils all that. it's so funny to me the few times i've seen him on tv on some tv show, so series, answering so cooly just a couple of words, haha. i think he believes he's the most beautiful thing on earth. he is cute, but gackt, darling, control yourself he makes me laugh
btw, i think he has a great voice and i like his song 12gatsu no love song and "kimi...?"

there are actually few types of chinese language..mandarin..cantonese..hokkien
but mandarin is the main 1..so when someone mention chinese...it means mandarin..

i prefer kimi ga matsu teiru kara more...the beginning n chorus rocks..

Although, I speak a little Mandarin Ive never been fortunate enough to hear any other Chinese dialects spoken........so how much do they vary? Are they totally different or somewhat similar?

i think there are pretty different
unfortunately..i only know cantonese...and a little mandarin..
many ppl said cantonese is much tougher to learn..
but to me..i guess mandarin is way tougher...
actually mandarin, cantonese n jpnese have some similarities..
example : denwa in jpnese is pronounce tian hua in mandarin n din wa in cantonese

Hokkien or Fujian in mandarin, originates from Fujian province in China. Of course there are many other dialects like Cantonese (very common, but I can't speak it ), Teochew, Hainanese, Hakka... did I miss out anything? They sound pretty different from each other, although all have roots in Mandarin itself. The most similar I can think of is Hokkien and Teochew.
