picked up some more merger info over the grapevine... we may be moving offices... 30% chance.

it's closer, but no more pool view, Sanrio girls and we'd lose atleast 1/3 of the current office as the new office would be too far for them to commute to.

So our "Internet Technical Assistance" guy (read, Help desk for webapps, who used to be the help desk guy would DIDN'T know how to defrag a drive) went on a 4 day MS Exchange server class, and now he's back and having a "discussion" about how to make everything better with the system with the Systems Admin.

They're yelling from inside the SysAds office across the hall to the ITA's cube. Now, the ITA is telling the SysAd how much better a windows based workplace is over a Unix/Linux based environment.

ITA guy is getting trappled by he SysAd, because the ITA thinks he knows alot now, but he really doesn't know crap... still.

So, , , all the managers that called out "sick" yesterday were back today. I asked one of them about it and he said, "Just a coincidence" (yeah, right)

Does anybody like or love their job?

and did you know that you wanted to do that at a certain age?

and how many different jobs did it take to find what you liked?

The reason I ask is cuz I'm going back to school and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do.

You can find my post in the school thread Doh!

I used to love my job, but the stuff I'm doing is kind of boring. I guess I could find a job elsewhere, but in the same domain. I didn't know what to do until I was 18 years old, but they didn't have a program for it, so I had to wait another 2 years. bleh I just hang out in college during that time doing boring stuff. hehe

I'm not sure what I'd do, beside my current job. If you're not sure what to do, you can always take something general like science that can give you a lot of opportunities/career choices or something useful like languages.

Good luck with your search. Victory! Peace!

i guess any job could get boring after awhile, and what makes things worse, if the conditions, boss, etc are not ideal.....
but it is how much we can tolerate for the paycheck...

Damn,

I just survived another round of layoffs at the office today. Think it's been 4 or so since I first came on board. Two of my good friends got the ax today, however. Puppy Dog Eyes
In my honest opinion, I didn't think that I would make the next layoff (today's). Thank god I'm still there. Even though my salary sucks donkey balls....
Guarantee, next one I'll be cut loose.. Sweat

That's my random 'talk crap about work' blurb of the day.

-sigh* I need another beer......

The DM and company allotted the Leather store 165 work hours for next week. That translates to: 140 hrs for management and a huge 25 hours to divide amongst four part-time employees Shameful Cry. I'm on the schedule for a two hour shift next Saturday Shake Head. Oh well, there goes my extra vacation money.
