Malaysians, can someone please list down the shops that sell JDorama (KL and Selangor), I mean the most frequented ones with a lot of titles, not the small ones that have like 4-5 box sets only.
Also, I'm currently collecting Tokio but very difficult to find their cd's. Anyone can direct me to the shops that sell lotsa their stuff. Ok, even if it just have 4-5 of their stuff also can.

Yeah, I'm a fan of Tokio. I managed to download quite a lot of their songs from this site: http://listen.to/tomoya. And later, I got obsessed about finding their concert cd's and live performances. I found from a site (http://www.answers.com/topic/tokio-1) that they only have a few:
DVD
TOKIO 1999 LIVE IN Nihon Budokan (3/29/2000)
TOKIO VIDEO CLIPS 2000 (3/29/2000)
5 ROUND (5/22/2002)
TOKIO LIVE TOUR 2002 5 AHEAD in Nihon Budokan (8/7/2002)
5 ROUND II (5/19/2004)
VIDEO
TOKIO FIRST LIVE VIDEO : BAD BOYS BOUND 95 (11/23/1995)
TOKIO LIVE 1997 + SPECIAL BONUS TRACK 1998 (4/1/1998)
Do you know that the people in Japan get to watch them every week in 3-4 TV shows for the past, oh I don't know, 10 years (http://doramachip.tripod.com/tokio.htm)? It makes me think that perhaps I'm living in the wrong country . My favourite Tokio member is the lead singer, Tomoya Nagase. But Matsuoka is so cool too, I like it when he twirls his drumstick in between the beats.
Anyway, thanks for the info. Oh yeah, do you realise there's a lot of Ayumi Hamasaki's cd everywhere? I mean, you would think that the entertainment people here are more aware of the bf-gf relationship she has with Tomoya and get more of Tokio's stuff since surely people are more curious about him now .
Actually, I don't care for what reason. I just want to get my hands on their cd's

If u see Music Valley, i'm sure they sells jdrama..
Shopping malls sells jdrama....but not that cheap.....above rm30....
The cheapest price u can get is at Kotaraya....but i dont like to go there...(only been there once though)

the cheapest place to get jdorama is at s&m shopping arcade...located next to kotaraya...jusco sells jdorama also...quite cheap if it's on sale...
music valley sells a lot of jdorama too... if u wanna find japanese album, you can find it at all Tower Record..you can find tower record at midvalley, one utama and KLCC. i've been to these 3 places and i think KLCC has more collection of cd compare to the other 2...

I modified it from what Yui-san in Yan Papa wrote for her manga character in the 1st cd "Bila bercinta, perlu berteguh hati". There are lotsa good-impact one-liners in that story. In BM subtitles, anyway. I'm not sure about other subtitles like English or Mandarin. Someone in one of the threads said it's too serious and I agree coz Tomoya did not laugh once in Yan papa, did you realise that? I mean, compared to Mukodono 2003 where he's like this laugh-o-meter, its really amazing. I watched Mukodono 2003 first, then Yan Papa and until now I feel like I watched two different people, not the same person acting those characters. Actually, I felt the same way watching Sakuraba and Samehada Yuichiro
Hey, I'm pokai too most of the time since I'm a struggling scholar i.e. unempoyed But I'm currently averaging my monthly allowance into 1 boxset/DVD and 3 manga per month. Yes, I also collect manga but only in BM. Hopefully, one day, don't know when, I'll be able to read them in Japanese. Ah, happy days
Thanks for the list of shops and the promise of the thread merging thingy. I don't know how that works but I sure appreciate it if it helps me locate more JDorama. Actually, I'm trying to complete my Tomoya collection. Does that sound fanatical to you guys? You should see me going through boxsets ...mmm, nope, nope, nope, yes...Arrgh! Why only got Mandarin subtitles????!!!! But since Malaysians like Takuya more than, oh well, everyone else..the whole rack is usually filled with his stuff. You should go and see the JDorama boxset section in Jusco IOI mall in Puchong. They even have his 2005 boxset already (around RM48). If they could only have Tiger & Dragon, I won't be so pissed
Yeah, I went everywhere searching for Tomoya. I call it "Kelas Mencari Bahan Tomoya" sempena Fumiya Sato's name for his expedition to collect materials for Hajime Kindaichi's Pembunuhan Harta Karun Amakusa case. Oh, and I also collect the Kindaichi boxsets. I've got the Matsumoto Jun one and am planning to buy the Dahmoto's soon. But I can't find the 2nd Dahmoto's boxset. Don't they know there are 3 Kindaichi boxsets? The Matsumoto one is supposed to be the 3rd installment but they put it up as no. 2. I'm also searching for Psikometrer Eiji (1&2) and the bonus is the story has Matsuoka as the lead. How cool is that? I can get the story and the actor all in the same boxsets. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any of them anywhere. Believe me, I've searched and am still searching. Probably because they were old productions (1997 & 1999). Never mind, I have a feeling I'll get them one day. Both are manga titles I'm currently collecting
Tesco in Puchong sold JDorama boxsets for RM21.90, cheaper than the ones in Jaya Jusco IOI if you consider that you have to buy 2 more boxsets you don't really care about to get the discount (Buy 2 free 1). Sometimes JJ does a 30% per boxset but very rare, I think.

Why don't you like going there? Does it have to do with the place or the quality of the products? If the CDs are fuzzy and cannot be opened in a computer than I'll have a problem. But it's okay. I'll try anything. I once went through all the CD shops in Times Square like a Universal Soldier. IN-no Tomoya, no Tokio-OUT. From GF to 10F. Fuh, I won't recommend anyone who wanna do a Kelas Mencari Bahan expedition to bring anyone unfanatical along.

Yeah, I did, and found quite a bundle of stuff I desperately need I mean, care to buy but they're so doggone expensive. I read someone's thread here who's friends go every year to the SMAP concerts in Japan. Humppph, I can't even afford to complete my Tomoya collection. How sad is my life ? But never mind, I will prevail.
Thanks for the replies. If there are more, please tell me. I'll list down all the places you guys have given me and go through them methodically. Hah, if I work half as hard as this for my studies I'd be completing it in half the time allocated to me.
And about that thread merging thingy again, please...could you??!!! I'd be ever so grateful

wah! what a long reply up there! u are surely a big huge gigantic fat tomoya's fan!!! more than i do!!! hahahaha... i thought im the only nagase tomoya's fan in malaysia until i read urs....wanna cry here.. u have the point though..it is very difficult to find nagase's drama especially with bm subtitles! yesterday, i went to find Tiger & dragon at the nearest store and finally i found a red box set besides gokusen 2! i grabbed the box and how glad i was when i saw tomoya and okada's faces on the cover! but, it really2 made me sad when the box didnt show any sign that says with eng or malay sub!
just want to scream at that time! benci giler!
btw, i will save my money to go to japan! i hope i will go there, at least a day!

What do you mean, fat? Oh well, I am a bit overweight..so not offended at all Yeah, well. I've been storing it up for a long time now so it's like this high-velocity geyser for a moment there.
Yep, it really sucks to have all the good Tomoya doramas in Mandarin subtitle. Why can't they at least do the subtitle in English so both can understand? I tell you, I found the Ring, Hakusen Nagashi and Suna no ue no Koibitotachi all in one shop but all Mandarin subtitled. I nearly screamed aloud in the shop but managed to control myself in time. In my desperation I bought Kanojo ga Shinjyatta even though I can't understand anything they're saying and I watched it with a Japanese dictionary by my side so at least I get a bit of the story.
That's the main reason why I plan to take a Japanese class next year. It's too late for me to learn Chinese characters but not too late to learn Japanese, I think. Besides, I've always liked Japanese language so it'll be such a fun experience (I hope!).

Just kidding. I like to make people sweat btw. It's fun when you're face to face but the emoticons will do too
I viewed your profile to see your Dorama list and found that you recommended Tiger & Dragon. I thought you said the one you found is mandarin subtitled? Did you understand the story? If you stumbled across the BM/English subtitled one, please 1000x tell me where I can find it.

oh..that one? i downloaded tiger & dragon from d-addicts and so far i watched until ep05 because from episode06 onwards, there are no subtitles...im waiting for it like forever! that is why im considering to buy it instead of downloading it but unfortunately, there is no malay sub for the box set!!!!!!!!
btw, this drama is super hilarious and nagase tomoya is uber hot!!!!

Yeah, I read that after ep5, d-addicts doesn't subtitle it anymore. So I didn't try to download. I'd be a nervewreck if I can't watch it to the end. I can wait, I guess. I'm good at waiting if it's something I want very badly. After all, I waited for 2 years before finally deciding to buy Mukodono 2003. Don't ask me why. At that time I thought I was being smart. Hmmph.
Anyway, Tomoya's the only actor that has that impact on me. I can still remember the main character's name even after a coupla years have passed, which is, to me, a miracle...since I'm a super-forgetful person when it comes to names.
Gosh... your experience reminds me of my own... the other day my twin and i, accompanied by a great friend we knew in this thread, went to IOI mall... that's the first time i went there... it was huge... the 3 of us had this mission , "Kelas Mencari Bahan Arashi", it was crazy, the way that we went from one store to another... still havent find what we hoped for... then there was a store, the staff said that they did sell one of their vidz, but it was sold out! Speedy really irks me, coz they sorta menganaktirikan jdorama... tak pandang sebelah mata pun... i was hoping that they would have any concert vidz... barely... finally, i bought "Yoiko no Mikata", w/o subs! but that's okay, since the show was quite easy to understand, and with so many jdoramas that i've watched, surely ada satu dua phrases lekat...ne? i never heard TOKIO sing before, but i saw some of doramas played by the members of the group... they're good... then if i watch Johnny's Power on AEC, sometimes they will have them on the show... saw nagase in both of mokudono... impressive....

Yep, Speedy in IOI Mall sucks. I've went thru several stores in high-velocity journeys for my Kelas Mencari Bahan (Tomoya and TOKIO) and found a Speedy in Subang Parade that have some good stuff. Infact, I bought my TOKIO 1999 in Budokan DVD from there. A bit expensive though. Saw some SMAP, V6 and Kinki Kids CDs as well as H.O.T (Kang Ta's group, Korean) so perhaps there's an Arashi as well. You can check it out.

well, sumtimes they have tokio, and also other artistes from JE... but u dunno what to expect from the show... sumtimes it was interesting, like they will play the CMs (my sis watched 2 very interesting cms of tokio from the show) also news about them... sometimes JE artistes as the guest... but unless u know perfect chinese or japanese, u'll spend your time in front of the tv, saying 'huh?' ... especially when kinki kids is on the show... no offence, but they talked non-stop... and i dont have any idea what they're talking about, it was fun watching them draw tho... tokio sumtimes get to play wacky games... nagase was usually quiet... but u can try your luck... as long as tokio exists in JE, surely they're going to be in the show... but i never saw arashi as guests tho...
4 months ago, i watched Johnny's Power w/o knowing the existence of Johnny's Entertainment agency... i actually thought the name Johnny signifies the name Japan...lol , no wonder i never saw Fujiki Naohito or other female artistes in the show... but now, i knew better...
hope this is enuff... i wish i could watch more Japanese shows... the way that the tv channels focusing too much on Korean dramas(they replaying the same thing in such short time... unbelievable...) i wish they would have a few more slots airing Japanese shows in a week, not just one...
