The actual problem is one of default code page for non-unicode applications. The two possible solutions are
1. Change default code page from the Regional and Language options.
or
2. Use AppLoc

My apologies for locking this thread.
As I am not very computer literate, I misunderstood the question.
Once again, my apologies..... Sweat Beaten Bow

No worries. I only found out about AppLoc myself quite recently - comes in very handy if you're on a work computer and can't force everybody to use Japanese. (The old backspace turning into yen sign and such).

Right now I've set it to Japanese under the "Language for non-Unicode programs". I need this to so it can display Japanese in Winmx. But now it won't display Chinese correctly in Xnews. It seems I can only choose one at a time. Is there a way to make it display both Japanese and Chinese correctly without changing from Japanese to Chinese or vice-versa and restarting everytime?
