Yup and just talking about SOS makes me want to watch the intro again and again. There is just something profound about that scene. It just begs you to continue to find out why a solitary strawberry is sitting in the hallway. And since I was skipping parts when I watched SOS still don't know the hidden meanings. Well saw something about the eating strawberry 1st or last and that the sister eats strawberry 1st but still unsure of symbol. OK I'm obsessed with strawberries.

I like the re-enactment of the train scene from Densha Otoko on the special but of course that wasn't the 1st scene.

For me the most addictive opening would have to be Hana Yori Dango. Now I have never read the manga or seen the anime before watching the drama, so I had no idea what it was about. However after seeing the first few seconds, I could not take my eyes away. I loved how Makino was getting angry with her classmates bringing brand name stuff into school. i thought it was funny. Victory! Peace!

I haven't seen it since it aired in 1990, but the first few episodes of Sekai de Ichiban Kimi ga Suki left a lasting impression. I would pay much to get episodes of that show (although I'll bet the late '80s bubble-economy fashions would be a bit jarring right now).

I was into Long Vacation from almost the first scene. It was a very good setup.

Since I loved Long Vacation, I was hooked on Slow Dance from the first episode also. They seemed to be related programs.

The first two episodes of Engine hooked me pretty fast.

Since I like the "unmarried office lady over 30" plotline, the first episodes of both Anego and Magari Kado no Kanojo made me want to see more episodes.

I thought the first episode of Rikon Bengoshi was a lot of fun, and I was happy to see that it was episodic rather than continuing drama.

I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting.

Most addictive start??
I'd say sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu.
When I started watching it, with that scene where the boy is crying on the top of a cliff, with that amazing music, I inmediately fell in love with it.

Hmmm....for me, HYD had the most addictive start. The first episode really got my attention, what with the cute boys, the cute girl, and the story line. I didn't know anything about the anime or the manga, but still fell in love with the drama. First time I ever saw the hotness that is MatsuJun and Oguri Shun. And I love the music to this show. So awesome. Especially when the F4 are first introduced.

Agreed, that H2 beginning is awesome. I love the storytelling aspect of it. I really was guessing throughout the whole series how that pitch turned out.

Sekachuu also has a very great intro, with Sakutaro standing at "the center of the world" crying holding onto her ashes.

1 Litre has a good intro that just hits you like a ton of bricks. I think I was starting to get teary eyed about 1 minute into the whole thing.

Oh I had forgotten about HYD. Yes, it definitely has an addictive start. When I watched the first episode, I couldn't wait for the next one.
