I've only just recently started to get into their music. I find that a lot of their songs are really catchy and I especially like their upbeat tempo songs. I don't have all their CD's yet, but I'm working on it! Mr Green

Hey Maemo, you should give Shangai Hani another chance. It's actually a really catchy song! Dancing

^Oh, I like it... Just not as much as the other songs... I'm not sure why though Crazy Now that I think about it, it is by definition a quirky song that I would like but just something about it doesn't appeal to me Sweat Maybe it's because I didn't like the girl who sent the song to me Nut

Locomotion is also very good and of couse I heard the Naruto song too 'viva rock'!! yay!).
Asterisk is their best song I think, opening of Bleach! Cool!

I don't want to oppose you and it may sound harsher than it is meant, but what are you doing here if you don't like them? Confused

I really like their songs, although I'm not such a fan of their looks! (actually very seldom for me: Mostly I like singers and actors for their apperence first...sallow me, ne~? *g*)
... lalala... SHANGHAI HONEY ...lalala ...

Not sure if anyone of you know this, but the drummer of Orange Range, Katchan, recently announced his departure from the group. His reason is 'musical differences' but so far there's no big speculation on it. I hope all goes well for the group..

"what's it like? good stuff eh?
boy band? girl band? or both?"

the six members -- Hiroki (Mid Vox), Naoto (g.), Yoh (b.), Yamato (High Vox), Ryo (Low Vox) and Katchan (dr.) -- have known each other since childhood, growing up together in Okinawa City. They started playing music together at a junior high school graduation, forming a group in 2001. Within a year, they had already played 70 gigs at the many live houses around Okinawa. The fact that the majority of the US military in Japan is based in Okinawa means that there is a quite different social mix than on the mainland. This applies to music too, with a lot of rock, blues, and hip hop mixing with local traditional music. Orange range reflect this mish-mash of influences and play anything from pop to rock to hip hop. They borrow heavily from other sources, part of the game in western music, but less common in Japan.

With a growing local fan base, they released a mini-album, "Orange Ball," with indie label Spice Records on 22/2/2002, presumably a fortuitous date of some kind. Playing the summer festivals in 2003, they held their own with established acts and were picked up by major label Sony, who no doubt were hoping to cash in on the Okinawan music boom. But group leader Hiroki insists, "I express the words and music with no influence from Okinawan music. It comes out naturally from inside me."

Their major label debut album Musiq proved that the message was reaching a lot of people, selling over 2.4 million copies and producing four No.1 singles.

(1) Michishirube PV and (2) VIVA ROCK live performance:
