King's Restaurant: I think this is comparable to the best stuff Neil Simon has done. An intelligent, witty comedy.
Shomuni 1 and 2: Broad humor, a lot of fun. Makiko Esumi doing her dominatrix best. The third season, unfortunately, ran out of steam.
Trick 3: Nakama and Abe play well off each other; I thought the third installment was the best of the three seasons.
Oyaji: Got more serious near the end, but there were so many funny scenarios in the series. Masakazu Tamura was the perfect choice to play the father.
Women of the Onsen 1 and 2: Corny and silly at times, but I laughed a lot watching this daytime series. I wonder why Takako Kato hasn't gotten more prominent roles? The third season, however, was bad.
Salaryman Kintaro 1 and 2: Another broad comedy. I liked the addition of Yasuko Sawaguchi's character in the special (which bridged the first two seasons) and season 2. The third season, however, took itself too seriously and was lousy, as was the fourth season.

Suekko Chonan Ane Sannin - Koyuki, Junichi & Eri Fukatsu were hilarious not to mention cute and sweet. I discovered that Koyuki can act funny as well as tomboyish, while Junichi could act as a cool yet harried husband/brother. Eri was simply hilarious when she was scheming (but always failing) to get rid of her three elder, horrible sisters-in-laws. Certainly one of the most underated comedy series.

Ousama no Restaurant:
One of the older dramas, but very very entertaining. I couldn't stop laughing when the new owner decided to hold individual interviews for existing employees to see who he could cut so he could better run the restaurant. The employees gathered in the back and while they were together they were saying things like how they were going to let the owner know exactly what they thought of this situation, but when they actually got out there some started making up stories of how he had been dumped at the beach and he had no parents, and this was the only job he had to support him self, etc, basically trying to get pity votes from the owner so they wouldn't be fired Big Grin

Okane ga Nai:
Again, another old drama (1994) but it's one of those timeless dramas. It doesn't matter when you watch it, the issues covered in the drama could be applied to present day. It's about a man (Hagiwara Kentaro) who tries to obtain a job at a very elite company to support his two younger brothers. I loved the scene where he went to a yakiniku place with his younger brothers and Michiko. It was payday so he thought he'd be able to pay the money but the loan-sharks were (coincidentally) there and took all his money so they ended up doing the "eat and run" XD

it took me several months to finish that show...i think kimura takuya and matsu takako were completely miscast in that show. ppl loved that show though...i didn't care for it...

it was like a wanna be ally mcbeal meets fox mulder from the x-files...

the truth is out there....yeah this show sucked. hehe

lotta ppl loved it though so i know i am in the minority, given my opinion.
