Just picked up this neat AA/AAA NiCd/NiMH smart battery charger from Amazon ( http://tinyurl.com/ccguez ):

A lot more sophisticated and informative than those wall-wart chargers with an indicator light. Victory! Peace!

LOL.

It could still be... But I did check (twice) for any thread that was remotely similar.

That power strip is actually very practical as it flexes like a snake to fit various situations instead of the rigid, rectangular jobs that are the only things available on the market.

Yeah, I thought it was kinda cool.

Problem is that it's pricey at $30...

Actually, all the stuff at that site is pricey. Sweat

That's the problem with innovative stuff: unless it sells like hotcakes, it'll be pricey in order to recoup the design/engineering/manufacturing costs... Sweat

Then there's stuff from Apple. Beaten

Haha. Yes, that's true unless the can benefit from economies of scale the markups can be pretty steep.

Tokyoflash Kisai Seven tells time with Tron design, makes fan dreams come true

Tokyoflash has always been more about the showy aspects of time, rather than the practical telling of it. And that trend continues on here with a Tron-inspired schema that's gone from original fan concept to wrist-wrapping product completion. Dubbed the Kisai Seven, this watch takes its cues from the aforementioned Disney flick, and incorporates two pulsing LED rings -- available in blue or white -- that are customizable via three animation pre-sets. Timepiece collectors interested in this bit of avant chronographic kit can snatch it up late night on the 25th when it's set to be released. You might wanna order up quickly, though, as the company's offering a special two-day only price of $99 that'll get a bump to $139 shortly after. Like what you see fellow '80s nostalgist? Then get your credit cards at the ready. Tomorrow's only a day away.

Blade Runner Umbrella

The post-Christmas slump normally begins with jeans that no longer fit, and dreary, wet winters. But what if the latter wasn't such a bad thing? With this light-up umbrella right out of Blade Runner, you too can pretend you're living in Los Angeles circa 2019. Suddenly dealing with drizzle doesn't seem so bad as you wait to be hassled about the off-world colonies. The future-brolly comes in a choice of blue or white, powered with just three button batteries. Now only if we knew which direction the next Nexus VI attack was coming from.

Price: $25 at ThinkGeek

Maybe the light is also a UV sanitizer so you can tape your toothbrush to it and disinfect it at the same time.

HAHA. For when you want to get away from the wife so you lock yourself in the closet with some instant ramen so you can see where you need to slurp.

And those light saber chopsticks keep the ramen warm as well. Mr Green
