Mimura changes her name

Mimura has announced that she will change her stage name from Mimura to Mimura Rie (美村里江). Mimura said the reason she used the name Mimura when she first started was because she was a fan of the cartoon character Mimura-neesan in "Moomins" and wanted the character to become more popular.

Mimura said there were basically three reasons she changed her name: 1) Mimura-neesan has now become more well known. 2) When she saw her name in the cast list of her Taiga drama the only one in katakana she realized how important her Japanese name is. 3) She wanted to make her acting persona and her real-life self equal.

Btw, her REAL real name is Kogure Rie (小暮 里江)

That's what I was thinking. She's had it in katakana as far back as "Rikon Bengoshi".
