I used a four-star rating to keep it more in line with, say, movie ratings and school grades:
Four = A
Three = B
Two = C
One = D
Zero = F
I could have even used a ten-point scale to allow for even more precision but... ah, it's only a drama, not on-base percentage.
By the way I agree with my friend that this drama would have been a LOT better if they had replaced Inamori and Hirosue with Fujiwara Norika and Fukada Kyoko.

Ba-BOOM!
Fujiwara Norika and Fukada Kyoko? i thought the characters they got were perfect! id rate this 5 stars if i could...absolute classic
Inamori was a lot better looking then and hirosue wasnt too bad (a little bratty)...then again, i dont really like Fujiwara or Fukada...both are a little on the chubby side?

the main plot is about life on beach... i din't really bother about the actors and actressess... although i thought takashi and ryoko acted well there...
the characters in the story are also interesting... don't u think so???

Trade or Distro it's all good!
I agree with you totally Fukada's acting could be termed as cruel and unusal punishment for her audience. I thought Beach Boys was AWESOME!!! I watched it on holiday at the beach which was soooo great. And Im so glad I just got in a better quality set. I need to see it again. _________________

it was pretty good, only thing was the old VHS rip at D-addicts. I would say it's worth a purchase if you got the money...I don't. Oh well, deleted it to make room for Last Christmas which was good too. Thanks Eltintor and SO.

Basically i bought this dorama after it was aired by my local tv station
bout 6-7 years ago. And of course after i knew Ryoko Hirosue got a role
in it.. she's just too adorable that time...kawaii..
It's such a good drama.. Nice combination of the main characters..
And i'm still re-watch this dorama if i got free time..

My gawd. I must have cried at five different intervals in epi 9 of Beach Boys. This episode really got to me and it was really hard to watch.
Man, didn't expect this to happen.
I remember when I started this thinking, "This is just some fluff. Yutaka and Sorimachi running around with their shirts off to attract the female viewers." But then I think it was episode 3 or 4

When we find out Haruko has a 5 year old son and that's the letter she waits for everyday.
I said to myself, "Better start paying attention Mark, there's more here than meets the eye."

And with the Beach boys thread re-emerging....
I agree with you and Wyn-chan. There is more to it than first meets the eye.
I loved Haruko's role. Ive enjoyed that actress in a few doramas.

I cried when she said goodbye to her son.
Yeah, she was great as the ditzy "Momoko" in Long Vacation And the scene you're talking about was probably the most intense one for me in the whole drama.
