Synopsis

Popular scenario writer, Yamaguchi Osamu (Inagaki Goro) is currently dating fashion magazine model Ebihara Yumi (Ebihara Yuri). With a high salary and a beautiful girlfriend, one would expect Osamu to be the envy of all around him. Yet there is something missing in his life. On the complete other end of the spectrum, 25 year old Ota Miyuki (Murakami Tomoko) works part-time at a Ramen restaurant while trying to fulfill her dreams of becoming an actress. Though her parents may have named her Miyuki with the intentions of her being beautiful and happy, the reality is she is ugly. Ugly enough for her parents to worry over her future. Miyuki herself, though she hates it, is also quite aware of this fact. This is where Osamu and Miyuki meet. Shocked by Miyuki's pure and fresh personality, he is drawn to her, but...

3.	Really thoughful and cute so far. [Rating: ?/10] I think these reviews so far are a bit harsh. I've watched 1-3 so far and the story is developing well, and even parts that may have been unconvincing in the beginning become more believable even by the third episode. The cast is great and the story is very cute and thoughful.

5.	I love it :D [Rating: 10/10] I love this drama. I think it's very funny and also it potrays a good lesson all at the same time. My favorite character is Miyuki, and sometimes I can relate to this drama especially when Miyuki talks about how people make fun of her. I think it's a good drama to watch and you might even learn something. Give it a watch~

6.	Funny, yet lagged at the end... [Rating: 6/10] I like it, it's just the ending disappointed me. Also the idea of Goro's character swimming through 3 girls and FINALLY picking, made me tired. It was obvious from the start what was going to happen, but getting there got tiring after a bit. I do like Kato though...heh, my pick for cute Johnny, but I am serious when I say this is a good drama for laughs, not for best story.

Busu no Hitomi Koishiteru ~ a bit too much over th [Rating: 4/10] i agree with the person who said the hero was so wooden, didn't know why he deserved the attention of 3 women! the morale of the story was good : but generally was kinda slow in the beginning, got kind of weird in the middle, and got even weirder when all of a sudden this guy decided whatever it was that he decided. BUT I AM GLAD I WATCHED IT BECAUSE (a) the basic morale was good (although sometimes acting over the top, and (b) it was my 1st introduction to SHIGEAKI KATO, who is oh-so-very-cute-and-adorable~~!!!!

8.	It's ok [Rating: 7/10] I feel that this drama is ok for 'busu' (even i dun really understand what it means). Prince charming with ugly duck y not? but what is strange is when Osamu suddenly proposed to miyuki when they were never even have a properly date before and Osamu never really said that he loves miyuki (i doubt he married her because he loved her I suppose its because she's funny) u know it's a happy ending drama. However still the story is ok and after all the soundtracks are good with the koda kumi as a guest appearance even for just 2 minutes. Goro was not so good actor in this drama his role was just so-so can 't feel any other emotion from his character. Anyway episode 4 (if I'm not wrong) is the funnies scene where osamu pretended to be miyuki's boyfriend in front of her family. It's ok but the not so good drama because of the plot story, I prefer if miyuki and osamu seeing each other before suddenly got married.

9.	Disappointing... [Rating: 6/10] I was drawn to this dorama by the interesting concept but was sorely disappointed particularly by the weakness of the script and acting. Tomoko's effort is worth mentioning but Goro and the supporting cast never really built the camaraderie necessary for the dorama to take off. Compounded with the fact that many of the comedic moments were ruined by poor jokes and forced humour, this series truly disappointed me by its inability to reach its true potential.

Comments by yume [Rating: 10/10] Casting Inagaki Goro as the super goodlooking screenwriter may have been a bit farfetched, but he plays a kind-hearted, handsome, successful screenwriter well so it's forgiven. So far as Miyuki (played by comedienne Morisanjuu's Tomoko?), she's an absolute delight to watch. I love how they didn't try to "create" someone "ugly" or "fat" and just let the character and casting speak for itself--not that she's an ugly woman, but by the standards set in this drama and society, she is, so all works well. In addition to that, the supporting cast is lively and interesting, and not just an array of pretty faces as seen in other dramas from the Spring 2006 season. The speed of the story seems a bit slow at first, but the pace eventually finds a good rhythm, leaving you full of anticipation by the end.

I thought that this drama was a bit similar to the idea in the Korean drama, "My Name is Kim Sam Soon". In both dramas, the protagonist is an average and not so good looking woman. The male in this drama is wealthy and a bit superficial in the beginning. But he soon learns that beauty is not always found on the outside. In this particular story, Oomori Nao plays a hefty woman who dreams of becoming a serious actress. Her dreams led her to Tokyo, but she's always rejected because she's overweight and none of the casting crew can take her seriously. She meets a man who directs Variety Shows (played by Inagaki Goro). He sees her and instantly sees a hit with her if she were to act in comedy. Throughout the drama, he tries to persuade her to be in his show. The acting was a little over the top, but fun to watch. Oomori Nao does a good job of portraying the main character with her determination and sometimes frustration when encountering obstacles. Inagaki Goro however seemed a little insincere when executing his dialogues. Overall, it was a fun drama to watch and I would recommend it for people who are looking for a light romance.
