Finished the first four episodes of My Boss My Hero, and it's pretty damn funny. One of the better comedy dramas I've seen. Also saw the first episode of Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de. The first episode was ok. The interaction between Keiko and Sho was funny, and the first case was somewhat interesting. I'll see how the rest of the series turns out. _________________

^^ Now you got me wanting to watch MBMH again, but that's a good thing.
Up to episode 6 of School!!, trying to take my time with it, it's only 9 episodes and am enjoying it so much trying to stretch it out, not a big Eguchi fan but have to admit every drama I've seen him in has been a winner.
Because I'm taking my time on that drama doing at least the 4th rewatch of the second season of Trick, never get tired of it. _________________

Synopses is the correct plural form.
Checking out TEIOH! Its fun, not brilliant but catchy. And Im liking the short episodes.

I'm halfway through Gaiji Keisatsu and really liking it. Has very strong acting throughout, especially by Watabe Atsuro, though I wish there was more of Ishibashi Ryo. Also, it's nice seeing Ishida Yuriko again, 12 years after she acted in Over Time as the flighty Fuyumi. I hardly recognised her. _________________
It's been quite a while since I've watched a dorama from beginning to end, but I finally completed viewing one--Ai Kotoba wa Yuki, a 2000 series. Scripted by Mitani Koki with a pretty impressive cast: Yakusho Koji, Suzuki Kyoka, Tanaka Kunie, Tsugawa Masahiko, Kunimura Jun, Terao Akira. There's some good character actors as well like Maro Akaji, Kajihara Zen, and the late Sugiura Naoki. Also, in the first episode there are cameos by Shinohara Ryoko, Karasawa Toshiaki, and Ono Takehiko. Oh yeah, Katori Shingo is unfortunately one of the principal actors and gives the usual mediocre performance you'd expect from a SMAP guy.
The story involves an actor (Yakusho) who has seen better times who is asked to impersonate a lawyer to help a village fight against a corporation which is dumping illegal waste on their land and in their water. Yakusho, imo Japan's best and most versatile actor over the last 20 years, gives a good performance as a self-absorbed, not-too-bright guy who is full of himself yet wanting (and often failing) to do the right thing. The best performance however, is Suzuki's playing a villager who, despite the many setbacks which come her way, displays a strong gambatte spirit.
To be honest, the script overall is not up to Mitani's usual standard, but it and much of the cast were entertaining enough to keep me watching to the end.

Well thats sounds encouraging as I just traded for it.
I'm checking out Kami no kizuku. i was excited about the wine based plot but the main actor grates a bit on me. I dont think I'll watch it after tonight.
Thinking about Hanajuku Tamago next. _________________

^^ School!! was also a good school drama but it was set in an elementary school, really enjoyed it, more than most school dramas, lot more serious than I thought it would be which made it better, plus only having 9 episodes meant there was no time for dragging things out.
Also up to episode 10 of my Trick 2 rewatch, after that not sure what's on tap. _________________

OT:While waiting for subs of the last episode of Soredemo, , , watched Style:http://www.jdorama.com/drama.520.htm. A very apt title. Its mostly style, not much substance. But its got Yuko Takeuchi so it was worth watching.

11 jin mo iru! Kudo Kankuro's new family drama - episode one was super fun but I am not really sure where this is going. Hirosue Ryoko was dead funny (well she plays a ghost).
I also checked out episode 2 of Nankyoku Tairiku, and I literally love all the supporting actors, Sakai Masato, Terajima Susumu, the old but hot guy from Hagetaka, Kimura Tae, Ashida Mana, Okada Yoshinori and many many more.
Makes me think Kimura Takuya is like Tom Cruise in those MI movies. Dialogues remain cheesy, even with my limited knowledge of Japanese.
