I agree with the folks who speak high volumes of this series, its main characters and the theme song as they all significantly contributed to the success of this dorama. Though my wife and I have already watched "Utsukushii hito" and "Beautiful life," this series won us over to actress Takako Tokiwa as one of our favorites. Her ability to master such a complex part, given the need to act young and bubbly one minute, serious and insecure the next ... not to mention having to learn sign language, is a credit to her acting credentials. This was a very complex story that touches on several levels. The first, and obvious, is the relationship between the characters Hiroko and Koji and the obstacles of overcoming the communication barrier, Koji's half sister "loving" him, Koji's ex returning onto the scene as well as Hiroko's childhood friend Ken confessing his love to her. On a deeper level, it tries to answer the eternal question most folks in a relationship end up wondering at one time or another: is love simply enough? Even deeper is the examination of Hiroko as she "grows up" in front of us ... starting with falling madly in love with Koji, eventually revealing her own insecurities whenever that love was confronted ... to the realization of her own weaknesses and need to go off on her own to find herself and her way in the world. Her leaving Koji in the end was indeed a sad moment; however, the re-enactment of the opening scene, when the two first met, some three years later ends the story on a hopeful note that the two, with Hiroko now more mature and secure of herself, may rekindle their relationship and this time be more successful. The story leaves you yearning for more. The message in this story rings clear for anyone who has been in a relationship where each person is on a different maturity level. Whether it (the relationship) can work out or not isn't the intent of this story ... but the importance of being true to one's feelings as the cornerstone of every relationship as well as openly communicating one's thoughts, dreams and fears to their partner. From that standpoint, this series was a masterpiece! |

After Orange Days and Long Vacation I started looking for other shows written by Kitagawa Eriko. This one took most of the 1995 TV Drama awards, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. In the end I just didn't get it! The acting felt overdone, the story dragged, the characters didn't grab me. Something just didn't click. In OD and LV I felt the pain that each couple was going through. I saw how the relationship grew and I desperately wanted them to have a future together. In this drama I really didn't care what happened. Part of me wanted to blame the quality on the fact that it was written in 1995, but then LV came just one year later! I'd say it's worth watching for fans interested in an 'early draft' of Orange Days, but I wouldn't expect the same depth. |

Aishiteiru to Ittekure is the most beautiful drama I've seen and the first Japanese drama I love. I really adore Toyokawa Etsushi and Tokiwa Takako in this drama. They conveyed their feelings through sign language and faces so superbly that if someone told me Toyokawa-san was actually deaf, I would have believed him. > <
The theme song, 'Love Love Love' by Dreams Come True, also contributed to the drama very well and is my favorite of all time. |

A real classic for many drama fans…all over the world! I would consider this as one of the top ten dorama. This is what Japanese trendy drama is all about. Love story with many twists and turns. Great performance from the main actors. Takako was amazing! Well, the main characters has to learn sign language before this show! That has to be a difficult requirement! And this show demonstrated why Tokiwa Takako is considered one of the best. |

I love this drama!!! The story is about a relationship not only between a 20 something woman to a 30 yrs old man but also between a hearing impaired, gentle and mature man and a normal, cheerful but childish woman. Some commented that it is a bit draggy but I didn't feel that way. I watched the drama for just a one day and I was really satisfied with everything. Both the actors expressed their feelings naturally and really convincing. |

This is well worth the watch, loads of touching moments, makes us think how lucky we are to be able to have the simplest of things - the ability to listen to others and to let others hear our thoughts. this dorama is quite okay for me, except for its pace..quite draggy sometimes. Tokiwa Takako plays a girlin love with a mute man, Toyokawa Etsushi. The storyis belieavable but I kept questioning myself how cd she learn all those sign language in a short time? and the storyline is interesting, but it kinda lose out in the end.. |

Toyokawa Etsushi deserved special mention for his graceful execution of the sign language – it enhanced his unutterable words so beautifully. Hence, I was totally annoyed when Tokiwa suddenly went mental and found fault with his disability to vocalize his feelings for her. That completely killed the show for me. |

Quite a slow dorama.I didn't watched it from the start though, so can't really give a good comment on this dorama.just nice storyline and good casting.but one thing that did get my attention was the sweet and beautifully written soundtrack song "love love love" by dreams come true.it has become my fav song all the time. |
