Akai Ito [赤い糸] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) This is a hard drama to rate. The story is a complete mess, but somehow the show is always entertaining. It's helped a lot by better than average acting and directing. | Akihabara@DEEP [アキハバラ@DEEP] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) I liked the early episodes, but the tone seemed different in the second half, and the ending didn't work for me at all. | Ashita no Kita Yoshio [あしたの、喜多善男] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Aside from a somewhat weak ending this was a good drama. Kohinata Fumiyo and Yoshitaka Yuriko gave great performances, and everyone else (except Konishi Manami) was at least good. |
Churasan [ちゅらさん] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) | Dragon Zakura [ドラゴン桜] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) | Gal Cir [ギャルサ] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) Not very good, but the comedy elements sometimes worked. |
Gonzo - Densetsu no Keiji [ゴンゾウ] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) | GTO [麻辣教師] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) | H2~Kimi to itahibi [2〜君といた日々] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) The first half was good, but it completely collapsed in the second. Also, -1 point for some incredibly annoying side characters (Kunimi's parents, the english teacher, and Noda and Kine's stalkers). |
Hero Rating: 7/10 (Watched) | Hitotsu yane no shita 1 [ひとつ屋根の下 1] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) | Hotaru no Hikari [ホタルノヒカリ] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) Not terrible, but Ayase Haruka isn't suited to comedy, and Kato Kazuki gave one of the worst performances I have ever seen. Also, the pacing could have been better. Just what is so bad about wearing jerseys anyway? |
Ikebukuro West Gate Park [池袋ウエストゲートパーク] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Started well but the ending was kind of dumb. | Jikou Keisatsu [時効警察] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) | JIN [JIN-仁-] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) |
Kaette Kita Jikou Keisatsu 2 [帰ってきた時効警察 2] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) | Keizoku [ケイゾク] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) The early, comedic, episodes were great. I didn't like the later change of direction. | Kekkon Dekinai Otoko [結婚できない男] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) |
Kimi ga oshietekureta koto [君が教えてくれたこと] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Tomosaka Rie was outstanding. | Kisarazu Cat's Eye [木更津キャッツアイ] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) | Koi ga shitai Koi ga shitai Koi ga shitai [恋がしたい恋がしたい] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) While slow in parts, this was one of the few dramas I've watched that had something interesting to say. Good acting across the board. |
Love Shuffle [ラブシャッフル] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) This drama took a few episodes to find its feet. The comedy was the best part, but some of the dramatic moments worked as well. | Manhattan Love Story [マンハッタン ラブストーリー] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) | My Boss, My Hero [マイボスマイヒロ] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) |
Nobuta wo Produce [野ブタ。をプロデュース] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Excellent aside from the lame ending. | raiaa geemu [ライアーゲーム] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) | Rinjo [臨場] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) The best Japanese police procedural that I've seen. |
Sailor Fuku to Kikanju [セーラー服と機関銃] Rating: 5/10 (Watched) | Satomi Hakenden [里見八犬伝] Rating: 5/10 (Watched) | Shika Otoko Aoniyoshi [鹿男あをによし] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Not bad, but the mysteries were too easily solved and the answers underwhelming. Tabe Mikako gave a good performance, but Tamaki and Ayase were terrible. |
Soratobu Taiya [空飛ぶタイヤ] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) | Suika [すいか] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) | The Quiz Show [ザ・クイズショウ] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) |
Trick [トリック] Rating: 5/10 (Watched) Boring. | Yasuko to Kenji [ヤスコとケンジ] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) | |
