Not sure if the official synopsis in wikipedia is correct. Can the loss of real calling to a noble profession and the absence of empathy be considered a corruption? I really didn't see the dimpled doctor 'punish' his colleagues for their contemptous nonchalance but the dimpled doctor did challenge the status quo and motivate his colleagues in a very subtle manner. Some scenes of the heir apparent to the hospital were really funny. so were the scenes with his director obasan. |

It's really a bonus to have the young actress who acted in "14yr old mother" in this drama - very matured acting. I think i will watch it again, not for the story which wasn't properly researched developed and went round in circles. There is a thick Japanese flavour to it, whether in terms of speech, body language, decor, ornaments. The production set took care of so much details that it's worth a second look. The other reason for watching it again is the lady boss, a former geisha. She can be funny without betraying her kimono facet. |

I cannot say I have given fare judgement to this drama. I dropped it after the second episode. I see a Hancho handling a bunch of rebellious cowboys...Even with the same lead, the rest of the cast went through an overhaul and the Jinnan spirit no longer exists. Hancho 5 bears no resemblance to the previous series and should have been re-titled altogether to give it a fresh start forcing viewers to associate it with the previous installments. |

Matsushima Nanako has aged somewhat. I was pleasantly surprised by Kimura Tae, who looked more like a rookie in the 3rd series; in series 4, she was most outstanding among the women cast and she displayed such femininity that it's hard not to take a second look at her beauty. Eguchi's acting brought no new breakthrough despite being a real Kyumei patient a few months ago. Still the most essential character around, the show just ain't the same without him. The rest of the supporting cast was rather weak. I would prefer series 2 and 3. |

It's almost obvious that the first and second halves of the story were written by different scriptwriters. Nonetheless, the first half of story was very refreshing and entertaining. It makes people want to visit Isetan, Daimaru, Mitsukoshi again. The second half of the story speaks truth to the reality of department stores today but none of us want to watch cliche plots anymore. |

It's a comedy, I think. Every quirky individual in the police team has a joke to tell. Thankfully, the jokes were funny. Ignore all those scenes when Oguri-kun returns to his pretty mum. Those were the most irrelevant and worst acting I have ever encountered. Ignore the criminal cases (except for the last case)....and what are we left with? Nakamura Toru, the most mesmerizing yakuza boss who stole the show; Oguri Shun, the cowboy who shoots everyone anywhere; Mizushima Hiro, the Johnny Depp look-alike. The casting is fabulous, but the two main leads were boring. |

I think the manga writer makes a mockery of human nature. The behaviour of that robot, Nighto, is a contrast to selfish nature of the human characters in this drama. I didn't know manga could turn out themes in literature. Wonderful to say the least. |
